Flexdrive, a subsidiary of Lyft that offers vehicle access to Lyft drivers through a flexible car rental subscription program, is seeking a passionate, organized, experienced operator and people leader to lead the Flexdrive rental operations teams in the Los Angeles region.

This exceptional servant leader will be experienced in managing large teams, and passionate about process excellence, continuous improvement, and best in class operations. In addition to leading a regional team, you will also be responsible for driving cross-functional initiatives, managing the costs of our programs, streamlining and optimizing our operations, and unlocking new opportunities and partnerships... the buck stops with you within your region.

Reporting to the Director of Field Operations  you will manage a team of leaders that own Lyft’s fleet and rental experience across 4-6 locations and will be expected to regularly travel within your region. You’ll also collaborate with other operations team members who support Flexdrive operations across the country, and serve as a crucial conduit between Lyft headquarters and the local teams that serve renters and manage vehicles on the ground, ensuring effective two-way communication and alignment on top priorities. You will also be responsible for influencing and achieving the most optimal allocation of fleet across locations regionally to drive revenue. Your ability to connect the dots between on the ground field operations and HQ strategic initiatives will ensure flawless execution of national strategic projects in your local market.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Los Angeles region, overseeing each market’s fleet, rental operations and sites
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the region’s fleet and markets to sustainably maximize fleet availability, performance, and utilization to enable growth 
  • Lead, develop, and engage a distributed organization of 20+ team members across multiple cities and sites, including direct management of a team of Operations Leads
  • Identify key market-level questions, problems, and continuous improvement opportunities to drive profitability and operational efficiencies
  • Drive strategic, fleet-wide initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, fleet health and fleet management costs; identify opportunities and make them happen
  • Proactively gather and analyze data through quantitative and qualitative mechanisms to help improve regional and HQ decisions on critical strategic issues; constantly drive improvement on business and team performance metrics
  • Manage the relationship between the XD headquarters team and local teams to effectively advocate for local needs and regional considerations
  • Prioritize team resources based on financial impact, operational capacity, and customer needs
  • Constantly drive improvement on business and team performance metrics
  • Grow revenue and improve profitability by optimizing in-market operations, meeting financial targets and internalizing and owning regional impact on program-wide P&Ls
  • Establish yourself as a valuable cross-functional thought partner to help drive business growth and opportunities across the company; synthesize market and customer feedback to build business cases that support recommendations and prioritize these opportunities for higher efficiency
  • Represent Lyft's brand, mission, and culture both inside and outside of the organization. 
Experience:
  • 5+ years professional experience leading large teams in process-driven, operational environments.

  • Strong critical thinker: you’re able to see the “big picture” and identify/forecast developing issues.
  • Communication skills: you have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels of the organization and speaking the language of different business functions.
  • Experience managing hourly/non-exempt workers in operations or service teams preferred.
  • Experience managing hard assets (fleet, retail, warehouse, etc.) or relevant complex asset/inventory business is a plus.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Los Angeles area is $99,360 - $124,200. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
