The role

The Operator Maintainer is responsible for the competent and effective operation of an identified piece of Production machinery in the manufacturing facility, clean using Cleaning in Process (CIP) and Conformance to Process to meet specifications. All tasking must be completed in accordance with Good Manufacturing and Food Safety standards.

What you’ll do

All Operator Maintainer roles:

  • Preparing area for processing with hygiene sign off, including prestart and if required, line start up
  • Confirming production schedule and raw materials availability before commencement of jobs
  • Allocating or confirming raw materials to correct production jobs while conducting quality checks to ensure materials are within specification
  • Filling information related to production jobs in MFG/Scada for data logging of jobs to ensure
  • Critical Control Points (CCP) and food safety standards are met
  • Escalate to area supervisor if product or equipment is not within processing standard. If the equipment is likely to cause damage or harm, shut down and Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO)
  • Basic troubleshooting when equipment stops due to alarms
  • Ensure that any provided personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn as intended for the entirety of shift when in the workspace and maintained at an acceptable standard
  • Ensuring cleaning chemicals are sufficient to ensure cleaning cycles are completed as per schedule
  • Maintaining a clear working environment within food safety and OHS standards
  • Routinely inspect product to ensure consistent and satisfactory product within set specifications
  • Adhere to traffic management policies and practices
  • Any other duties as reasonably required or directed
  • Perform repetitive manual handling - ensuring that manual handling loads do not exceed 20kg for one individual, or that loads of more than 20kg are completed as a team lift

Kettle Farm Operator Maintainer:

  • Ensuring raw material phasing is in line with cooking manual for jobs
  • Routinely inspect final product from Kettle Farm to ensure consistent and satisfactory

product within set specifications

  • Communicating with Vertical Form Filling Seal (VFFS) operator and pump product

downstream for bagging and chilling

  • Cleaning down the Kettle Farm to Hygiene standard operating procedure

Meat Needling Operator Maintainer:

  • Correctly labelling products to jobs in SCADA/MFG system for product traceability
  • Mixing meat injection solution with conformance to process
  • Operating tumble massaging machine to operating standards
  • Operate meat needling machine to operating standards
  • Depositing processed meat into megabins, ready for cooking
  • Disassembly and reassembly of meat injector, massage/tumbler and brine mixer ready for cleaning and operation

Twin Drum Oven Operator Maintainer:

  • Routine inspection of raw materials to Twin Drum Oven are consistent and satisfactory product within set specifications
  • Ensuring that seasoning and oil materials are sufficient for standard operation, to maintain product is within specification and reduce waste
  • Basic troubleshooting on Spiral Oven when it stops due to alarms
  • Monitoring oven setting during cooking and inspecting belt cleaner is operating correctly
  • Communications with Picking team to ensure scheduling of jobs is adhered too

Fry Line Operator

  • Routine inspection of product through stages of fry line to ensure consistent and satisfactory product within set specifications
  • Topping up consumables along fry line for operation (breadcrumbs, oil, batter etc)
  • Monitoring fry line setting during cooking and inspecting belts are operating correctly
  • Routine inspection of raw materials to Fry Line are consistent and satisfactory product within set specifications
What you’ll bring
  • Industrial food processing experience such as dairy, drinks, wet ingredient production
  • 6 months’ experience in Cleaning in Process (CIP) system on production machinery
  • Certificate I, II or III in Food Processing
  • Food Handling Certificate
  • 6 months’ experience in a High Risk food manufacturing processing environment from raw materials on high standard automation pressure cooking processing equipment
  • Experience in Food Safety practices, BRC, HACCP and OHSAS 18001
  • Experience using SCADA/SAP programs or similar

Duration: Permanent full time role. You must have the right to work full-time in Australia/New Zealand.
