We’re seeking a self-motivated, thoughtful new member of our paid content team who can toggle effectively between integrated marketing brainstorms, web copywriting for corporate partners, and developing the work of our paid content writers to the level of CNET’s world-class, award-winning editorial standards.

This role will be responsible for helping to ensure monthly paid content deliverables are met, while also strategizing and improving the day-to-day operational systems that drive our paid content efforts. The ideal candidate is a skilled editor with excellent storytelling, project management and communication skills, with an equal zest for both journalism and digital marketing.

*This role is in a bargaining unit represented by a labor union, the Writers Guild of America, East.

What You’ll Do:

  • Bring creativity to brand storytelling objectives by partnering with the integrated marketing team to bolster RFP and RFI responses
  • Flex your top-tier writing and communication skills to assign and edit paid (custom) content articles, skillfully interfacing with partners for feedback when appropriate
  • Be a quick study to learn the ins and outs of CNET’s integrated marketing and editorial business units, including written content, video and social media
  • Help bolster and expand our freelance network of writers
  • Meet our high standards for editorial integrity, accuracy, and legal compliance on all content
  • Ensure content is precise from a voice, tone, and brand standpoint
  • Uphold and exercise editorial judgment when developing custom content alongside brand partners
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration meetings
  • Provide regular updates on content production, performance, and key highlights

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years experience as a journalist experienced in both writing and editing. Brand storytelling experience is a plus
  • Extremely organized project management. Experience with Asana is a plus
  • Clean, accurate and engaging copy that is error-free
  • Skill with conceptual topline messaging. You can whip up compelling taglines and summary nutgrafs for prospective campaigns quickly and consistently
  • Ability to hop from one topic to another nimbly and effectively, providing corporate partners with the CNET experience for their specific industries
  • Self-motivated, with a collaborative attitude with managers and colleagues
  • Team player who can pivot as needed and juggle multiple projects with a positive attitude
  • Growth and learning mindset

Compensation

  • Cash Compensation Range:
  • $55,000-$70,000 - Outside of NYC (National range)
  • $66,000 - $84,000* - Based in NYC *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
