Lincoln International follows a hybrid work structure with an emphasis on in office collaboration.Our employees work in our Chicago office Monday through Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely or from the office on Fridays. Our office is located at 110 N Wacker Drive, just blocks from Union Station & Ogilvie Transportation Center.

Job Description

Lincoln International is seeking a full-time Paralegal in our Chicago office to assist our rapidly growing organization. This role will primarily support our domestic offices, but also our international offices, as needed. We do not anticipate that travel will be required. This person will report to the General Counsel, but work collaboratively with all attorneys and professionals in the legal and compliance functions, primarily located in Chicago. This person will have significant interaction with Lincoln International’s senior bankers, senior management and outside counsel. Successful candidates should be very detail-oriented, committed to excellence and motivated by the prospect of building a dynamic legal group within a leading, global M&A advisory firm.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with identifying and then implementing a new contract management system for the organization.
  • Once implemented, will be the primary owner of the contract management system, including setting up appropriate tags and reminders and contract routing.
  • Provide vendor management and legal budget support, including assisting with processing of legal engagement letters, audit letters, tracking of legal invoices and accruals against budget.
  • Assist with corporate recordkeeping, subsidiary management and corporate governance matters.
  • Legal research on laws, regulations (federal and state) and cases affecting the investment banking industry.
  • Answer questions regarding legal department policies and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience or relevant experience in a legal environment preferred. Specific experience in an in-house legal department for a public company is a plus.
  • Paralegal certification or bachelor's degree.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively under tight deadlines and maintain communication with attorneys regarding project status and estimated completion timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with peers, customers, attorneys and other business and compliance professionals.
  • Excellent legal research skills and experience with Lexis and/or Westlaw.
  • Competence with the suite of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of dependability.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented.
  • Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Good judgment and discretion.
