The People Operations Team form part of the greater Global People Team within Luno. The role in a nutshell:We are looking for an experienced and professional Payroll Manager who will be responsible for the full payroll cycle, payroll procedures and payments for all regional entities at Luno .You will be part of an amazing People Operations team reporting into the People Operations Manager 

Your mission will be:

• Prepare, administrate and work with the Finance team to distribute salary payments for all Employees in accordance with our payroll calendar. 
• Ensure our in house payroll procedures and outputs are ‘audit ready’ as well as updated, maintained and followed. 
• Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and tax obligations in all regions in which Luno operates. 
• Manage and maintain the payroll systems and governance and ensure salary payments, expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time.  

A little about you:

• A proven track record of managing a highly effective Payroll function and a working knowledge of the statutory requirements affecting salaries in South Africa.
• Previous Payroll exposure within the UK and APAC markets will be advantageous. 
• 5 + years specialised payroll experience 
• 2 + years of Payspace experience
• A tertiary qualification in Finance/Accountancy/Payroll will be an advantage
• Solid financial acumen and knowledge of payroll/ accounting software.
• Ability to interpret and to reconcile complex financial data from a variety of sources using tools such as Google Sheets and  Microsoft Excel. 
• Experience of working to defined service levels, targets and key performance indicators.
• Demonstrable knowledge of current legislation with regards to pay conditions and the tax treatment of fringe benefits.
• Demonstrable knowledge of working with 3rd party benefit providers. 
• Ability to prioritise workloads effectively, balancing conflicting deadlines and achieving results and deliverables within fixed timescales.
• Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex payroll matters to
