About the role

In the role of Payroll Manager, you will report to the Sr. Director Global Payroll and Benefits.

We are considering applicants for the location(s) of Dallas and Culver City.

The Payroll Manager will serve as a key member of the payroll function within the People Team, and will serve as the subject matter expert for all things related to payroll. This role will provide effective leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members to accomplish functional responsibilities. With a focus on identifying opportunities for payroll process improvements.

The ideal candidate for this position is a hands-on leader that thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We are looking for an individual with demonstrated experience in building and leading accurate and timely payroll processes that promote a high quality employee experience.

Core Areas of Responsibility

• Oversee and manage all activities of the Payroll team responsible ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing and all payroll processes are administered in compliance with SOX requirements, internal company policies, federal, state, and local regulations, and collective bargaining agreements
• Establish and maintain appropriate audit controls for the payroll and data entry processes
• Critically review and analyze payroll procedures in order to implement changes leading to best- practice operations
• Plan, develop, and implement forward looking payroll processes/procedures and revise current processes/procedures to continuously seek improvement, improve accuracy, create optimal efficiency, and provide best in class customer service to our employees
• Maintain relationships with external payroll vendors and tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate filing of payroll-related reports and payments
• Lead, mentor, train, and motivate team members to ensure a high level of performance
• Ensure administration of payroll is timely and compliant with all applicable Federal/State laws and tax regulations

About You

• 8+ Years of overall payroll experience with in-house payroll processing in a high volume, multi-state environment
• Experience as a Workday Payroll and Time and Attendance functional matter expert
• Complete understanding and practical application of payroll processing, payroll systems, payroll accounting and payroll tax
• Thinks analytically, focuses on the larger picture, and is able to drill into the detail and understand the impact
• Adapts to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on the broader business.
• Manage a high degree of change in a fast paced, complex, and demanding environment.
• Ability to handle issues involving sensitivity, confidentiality and legal exposure.
• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Experience managing Global Payroll a plus
