Payroll Specialist
Our Opportunity:
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team in Plantation, FL! This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with the team and management to ensure efficient payroll processes while staying compliant with all regulations and policies. The Payroll Specialist is a supporting role to the Payroll team and is responsible for processing high volume multi-state weekly payrolls.
This includes auditing customized payroll reports, validating input for accuracy, processing special payments, and bonuses. The goal of this position is to ensure that all payroll functions are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures. This individual may also work with partners in Accounting, Human Resources, Third Party Vendors, and other internal departments on various initiatives.
What You'll Do:
- Act as a point of contact for Payroll related issues.
- Complete day-to-day processing on cycle multi-state payroll for hourly and salary employees.
- Responsible for the processing of off cycles and payroll adjustments.
- Setup and processing of involuntary deductions eg Garnishment, taxes, Child Support Orders.
- Complete assigned per pay period reporting, auditing, and data reconciliations timely.
- Ability to identify issues and demonstrate curiosity to investigate and resolve.
- Finds opportunities for process improvement.
- Maintain up to date process documentation.
- Provides cross training on relevant topics.
- Stays on top of laws and regulation changes and how they affect the payroll.
- Support Payroll management and peers with projects and other tasks as required.
What You'll Need:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred. An appropriate combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Previous experience processing high volume, multi-state payroll for a mid to large size company.
- Experience with Workday Payroll preferred.
- Knowledge of current payroll related laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel required.
- Able to coordinates with others and prioritizes tasks.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, high growth environment with changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Self-motivated, positive demeanor, flexible outlook, and strong ethical values.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling critical and personal information.
