We’re responsible for supporting our People Team and Business Managers through formal employee relations cases.  Our key drivers are to be a leading place to work through driving simplicity across all People processes to create the Moments that Matter for our colleagues.

 

This role in a nutshell:

You’ll provide support to operational managers and ensure that all formal people-related hearings are conducted in line with legislation and company policy and practice, in a fair and consistent manner which minimises risk to the company.

You’ll ensure that all records of cases are updated in a constructive and clear manner, and use that information to evaluate each situation and conduct an appropriate level of risk assessment.

You’ll need to exercise good judgment and be able to identify when to escalate any potential legal/financial risks or damage to business reputation resulting from best practice not being followed/rejection of HR recommendations by the business

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Using technical expertise to advise our People Team and Operations Managers on all aspects of the employment relationship particularly where there is a sense of dispute or disagreement.
  • Preparing internal company information to support pre-conciliation with ACAS, and conducting any pre-conciliation discussions.
  • Engaging with legal representation to understand risk/prospects of Employment Tribunal claims and prepare the bundles necessary to support tribunal claims.
  • Keeping key stakeholders informed of risks/prospects and facilitating discussions around appetite to settle or defend cases.
  • Actively challenging the status quo looking for opportunities to build team capability, be more efficient, streamline processes and improve the service.
  • Highlighting any anomalies within the application or interpretation of policy to contribute to Employee Relations to assist with policy development

 

You’ll be a successful Case Manager here at OVO if you…

  • Have proven experience within a similar role within a People team, clearly understanding interdependencies across a people function
  • Have a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience, being seen by others as empathetic
  • Have detailed understanding of employment and case law, ACAS early concilation process and Employment Tribunal process
  • Are confident within your knowledge and understanding of HR policies, procedures, practises and processes
  • Have strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Are a credible and confident decision maker
  • Deal confidently with ambiguity
  • Are adaptable to dealing with different people in different and difficult situations
  • Are committed to high levels of customer service
  • Are an innovative problem solver

We’ll pay you between £31,000 and £36,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
