People Tech Specialist
About the team:
At SumUp, we’re passionate about supporting small businesses. We believe everyone should have access to flexible, fair, and easy-to-use technology that helps bring their ideas to life. Every day, millions of people around the world dream of starting their own business—and we’re here to help make that happen. Our long-term ambition is to "close the loop" by turning everyday transactions into lasting relationships between businesses and their customers.
As part of our People Tech team, our mission is to enable long-term scalability by fostering a data-informed culture through seamless systems and a people-centric employee experience.
In this role, reporting to the Head of People Tech and working closely with both the People Tech and People Analytics teams, you’ll partner with global People teams and business stakeholders to help them get the most out of Workday. You’ll work across multiple Workday modules to ensure we are maximizing their potential and using them effectively to support our people-first approach.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate on configuring and enhancing Workday’s Core HCM module, as well as other key modules such as Absence and Time Tracking, to create a seamless and scalable experience for all employees.
- Support the rollout of the Time Tracking module across multiple countries, adapting the system to meet local requirements while maintaining a consistent global approach.
- Partner with stakeholders to streamline processes, resolve challenges, and implement thoughtful improvements through configuration and automation.
- Provide timely, empathetic support to SumUppers using Workday—ensuring they feel guided and confident while navigating the platform.
- Support documentation and user enablement, helping others navigate Workday effectively by creating easy-to-follow guides and offering informal coaching.
- Build insightful reports and dashboards, and manage data uploads to ensure accurate and up-to-date information across systems.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- Hands-on experience with Workday HCM Core, and ideally exposure to other modules too.
- A curious and agile mindset, and a fast learner eager to deepen your expertise across various Workday modules such as Absence, Security, Compensation, Learning, and integrations.
- A solid grasp of Workday fundamentals, including Staffing, Worker Data, Organizations, Business Processes, Security, and Reporting & Analytics—and how these elements connect and influence the broader HR ecosystem.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to confidently navigate, validate, and manipulate large datasets to ensure data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, able to break down complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for different audiences, and are equally skilled at listening and translating business needs into system solutions.
