The Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced People Technology Senior Functional Specialist to join our HelloFresh People Team at either our New York City or Berlin Headquarters. This role offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact on the operational excellence of our global People Technology landscape, focusing on key Workday modules of Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, and Benefits.

As a People Technology Senior Functional Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Workday solutions that drive efficiencies across our People function. In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders from HR, IT, Finance, and Legal to transform business needs into functional solutions that align with the goals of a fast-growing global business.

You will play a pivotal role in leading and executing functional workstreams within key projects, working on system enhancements, and helping to ensure that Workday solutions are continuously improving. You’ll have the chance to focus on some of the core Workday modules like Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, and Benefits, and while you don’t need to be an expert in all of them, you should have deep expertise in at least two of these areas.

Your role will involve driving both strategic and operational improvements, optimizing existing system functionality, and supporting new module implementations. You will take ownership of ensuring that HelloFresh's People function can operate smoothly and efficiently, making use of Workday’s capabilities to enhance the employee experience, improve HR processes, and support global business initiatives.

What You’ll Do
  • Act as a subject matter expert in key Workday modules such as Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, or Benefits, depending on your expertise.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy Workday functional solutions to optimize HR processes and improve the employee experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, IT, Finance, etc.) to understand and address system requirements, translating them into functional solutions.Lead functional workstreams in strategic projects, including system enhancements, new module rollouts, and global country implementations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within Workday, ensuring the system operates smoothly and that business continuity is maintained.
  • Contribute to the optimization of Workday reporting and analytics, providing actionable insights to support HR and business decision-making.
  • Help maintain a robust security model in Workday, ensuring it aligns with business needs and user access requirements.
  • Conduct system audits and maintain data quality, identifying and addressing trends in data errors.
  • Develop user support materials (e.g., guides, training documents) and deliver training to various stakeholders across the business.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the People Technology team.
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and deploying Workday functional solutions in at least one of the following areas: Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, or Benefits.
  • Solid understanding of the HR function, HR processes, and data structures within Workday (e.g., Staffing, Worker Data, Organizations, Business Processes, Reporting & Analytics).
  • Expertise in key Workday modules, with deep experience in at least one of Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, or Benefits. Expertise in all of them is not required.
  • A consulting background, with the ability to engage stakeholders, gather requirements, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Experience with Workday data conversion, EIBs, and integrations, with a focus on system enhancements and maintenance.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex functional concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, HR Management, or a related field.

New York Pay Range$116,250—$173,600 USD
