Role Description

As a People Technology Intern within the People team at Dropbox, you will gain extensive experience with key aspects of Technology to serve the function. This role offers a comprehensive view of how internal technology enhances company operations and employee experiences. You will play a crucial role in the implementation of technology enhancements, contribute to user-centric design, and bringing together technical and business teams to improve employee experience. This internship provides substantial senior leadership exposure with Dropbox’s People technology leaders across People and IT, deep insights into People technology, and the opportunity to develop skills in People tech business analysis and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support and shadow a large People Technology enhancement end-to-end, over the course of the entire 9-week internship
  • Leverage design-thinking principles to ensure a user-centric approach in the development of solutions in the context of People systems and enterprise applications
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across the People and IT departments to gather requirements and feedback for a technology project, ensuring alignment with the overall technology strategy
  • Leverage best practices for communicating business requirements for a technology project for technical and non-technical stakeholders, gaining experience in process improvement, business partnership, and async communication
  • Assist in executing defined tasks related to People Technology projects under specific guidance from team managers, focusing on areas like Workday operations, system audits, and process documentation
  • Support business teams in solving a predefined problem, contributing to the improvement of HR processes and technology implementations
  • Attend in People technology team meetings and gain familiariaty with the various sub-domains within people technology
  • Engage in learning opportunities to develop a basic understanding of HR operations, Workday, and other People Technology tools
  • Follow through on commitments and take responsibility for assigned tasks, delivering quality work within established timelines
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Demonstrated interest in HR technology and systems, with a keenness to apply design-thinking principles
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience or coursework in user experience design, business analysis, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and applying new concepts in technology and business analysis
Total Rewards US: The expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) rate for the role is $5,000/month, subject to change.
