THE ROLE
Join our Systems Software Group to lead a team building the foundation for the industry’s most innovative, high-performance, and highly available storage portfolio. You will own the development of core platform software, driving execution on projects that integrate cutting-edge Linux kernel and NVMe fabric technologies. This role is key to delivering the simplicity and continuous innovation our customers love about FlashArray.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing software development team focused on key Linux kernel development, new hardware platform enablement, and NVMe fabrics protocols.

Drive and own the execution of Purity software releases, creating detailed software plans and ensuring the team hits product development milestones in close collaboration with Program and Release Management.

Define and implement strategies for continuous integration and phased execution of complex platform features to ensure high quality and predictable delivery.

Manage technical engagements with partners and vendors to successfully integrate third-party deliverables and components into the FlashArray platform.

Translate business objectives into technical strategies, ensuring the team's output directly contributes to the platform's performance, stability, and our business impact.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
WHAT YOU BRING
-
Proven experience managing a technical team (3+ years) while maintaining hands-on involvement in software development and architecture.

Deep expertise (5+ years) in Linux kernel development or protocol development in the domains of storage, networking, or servers, ideally on x86 NUMA systems.

Extensive knowledge of key storage or networking technologies and industry standards such as NVMe, NFS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, or SCSI.

Demonstrated ability to manage the entire SDLC of complex projects, delivering products to market on a predictable schedule and incorporating a strong customer-first focus.

Proficiency in primary development languages like C/C++ and comfort with scripting for automation, along with expertise in Agile development and continuous integration practices.
