PORTER

For this role, you will support the ordering, receiving, and delivery responsibilities of the Food Services department. Individuals should have familiarity with cleaning products, cleaning equipment, receiving equipment, and basic stocking and receiving practices. This individual must be able to communicate regularly with our staff, visitors, vendors, and leadership team in a polite, courteous manner. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to restocking supplies in all of the kitchens and outlets, transporting products from receiving kitchen to all other kitchenette, storage, and sales locations, and cleaning and organizing all food storage spaces and racks. You will support the mission by taking instruction from leadership to ensure our product is available when and where it is needed throughout the operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate good housekeeping, sanitation, and food safety practices consistently
  • Organize, clean and sanitize food storage spaces and storage racks
  • Stocks food product accurately against storage plans and rotates older product with newer product utilizing the first in, first out (FIFO) method
  • Monitor product shelf life and expiration dates in receiving space
  • Support water and brewed coffee delivery and restocking efforts throughout the campus
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the operation and usage of basic kitchen equipment
  • Transport food product to kitchens/kitchenettes or stocks food items in prep-kitchen as assigned by supervisor
  • Mark food product for each kitchen space upon arrival using internal systems
  • Support delivery of grab n’ go meals and other supplies to sales locations daily or as assigned by supervisor

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of either restaurant experience, warehouse experience, and/or customer service experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Restaurant experience
  • Porter experience
  • Inventory experience
  • Ability to work well with others and be self-driven
  • Current and valid WA food handler’s card or equivalent

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time – up to 8-10 hours a day
  • Ability to carry large, heavy items unassisted such as large packages, dishes in tubs, or trays (up to 50 lbs)
  • Willingness to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:              

Pay Range:         

Porter/Level 1: $22.50/hour        

Porter/Level 2: $24.50/hour      

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for potential discretionary bonuses.
