Overview:

Zuora is looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer to join our Solution Engineering Center of Excellence team to help Create, Automate and Maintain world class Customer demos at scale. You should be passionate to understand different customer use cases, work with Solution Engineers/Product/Account Executives to build reusable solution demos on Zuora. One should have an automation mindset to build demo assets for the Solution Engineering organization. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with the Solution Engineers/Account Executives to understand the customer business and to gather use case requirements.
  • Review the use case scenarios with the Solution Engineering team, configure or build them using Zuora’s Billing product to achieve the customer needs.
  • Work along with Solution Engineers on the customer use case demo front.
  • Increase sales success by improving demo quality and our ability to innovate and automate
  • Anticipate Areas of Complexity very early in the use case requirements and collaborate with the product engineering for best possible solutions.
  • Lead SC CoE process improvement initiatives and take action to make changes. Understands the need to continuously improve methodology, actively participates in initiatives and leads others to complete revisions.
  • Develop process improvements by automating the manual activities through scripts and different automation tools
  • As needed, can develop well thought out Requests for Enhancement (RFE) that strike a balance between the specific needs of a Customer and the need to deliver product features that can be used by a broader base of Customers.
  • Implement/develop custom solutions for out-of-the-box business scenarios.
  • Work with the product team on integration capabilities in demos with third party platforms
  • Collaborate across teams for new releases on Zuora's products.
  • Manage the demo tenants to ensure all are on the latest and the greatest version
  • Test and deliver the use cases to Solution Engineering teams with documentation.
  • Attend product version release meetings and enablement sessions to be up to date with the Zuora Product features and apply the same to the demos
  • Assist with technical Zuora tenant issues to ensure seamless demos for Solution Engineering
  • Be the "voice of the customer/field" - Provide feedback from demo development to the product team for product improvement

 

Required Experience and skills

Education & Essential Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters of Engineering (Computer Science) or equivalent
  • 2 to 8 years of relevant experience in advanced Programming development or Software Consulting
  • Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Software Analysis & Design, Test driven development
  • Working knowledge of one or more current programming languages such as JAVA, Salesforce, Python, Ruby, Java Script, HTML, CSS, Web Development, API’s, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Database
  • Good understanding of concepts related to SAAS and Cloud Computing
  • Knowledge of programming with SOAP, REST, WSDL, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS.
  • SQL Scripting knowledge to be able to query data, create complex joins, and reformat existing tables
  • Basic programming in Powershell, Bash, or other scripting language to automate tasks and troubleshoot existing tools.
  • Experience with Slack Automations would be a plus
  • Understanding of RDBMS concepts, DML and DDL operations.
  • Ability to independently perform use case validation on developed extensions
  • Consulting skills to be able to work with clients, troubleshoot their data, and assist them in fixing the data/configuration issues
  • Knowledge of Order to Cash or Finance business processes

Additional or Optional Skills

  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Apex Programming will be an added advantage
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I/II or Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification will be a great advantage
  • Java Certified Professional Developer (Professional Java Certification) would be preferred
