The Role

We are looking for a hardworking, innovative Partner Program Lead with great energy, passion, organization, and initiative to drive new business for the fastest growing and most popular database on the planet, MongoDB. This role will accelerate MongoDB’s developer data platform vision by developing, implementing, and managing programmatic excellence and scalability through systems, playbooks, and processes to ensure partner and ecosystem success. This role will certify technology partners can and do meet the necessary requirements throughout their maturation journey and in turn, ensure MongoDB delivers excellent experiences to accelerate success with partners for our joint customers. 

Our goals are centered on delivering compelling customer value, business value to our partners and great developer and customer experiences.  

This individual should have a proven track record of designing and implementing partner programs that amplify value proposition, drive partner recruitment, and enable long-term engagement. Additionally, this individual should be capable of engaging directly with partners to support the partnership journey from discovery through onboarding.

Candidate Profile
  • Energetic self-starter with ability to work as a collaborative team player
  • Proven ability to develop and execute programs ensuring an excellent partner experience across the full partnership lifecycle
  • Demonstrated program management skills directing cross-functional and external partner teams to meet deliverables
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of application development including how developers leverage web/app frameworks, AI/ML tools, and Open Source software
  • Brings organizational rigor to manage complex initiatives end-to-end
  • Skilled at decomposing multifaceted problems to systematically advance solutions
  • Capable summarizing trade-offs and impartially prioritizing outcomes
  • Learns rapidly to establish credibility as a subject matter expert. Brings self-awareness and high emotional intelligence
  • Driven to progress initiatives autonomously within fast-paced dynamic environments

Position Expectations
  • Partner Programs: Design partner programs that amplify value proposition, drive partner recruitment and enable long-term engagement. Implement these programs effectively to ensure their success
  • Partner Systems: Implement systems to more effectively manage and onboard partnerships, including systems for research and discovery, CRM, onboarding, account mapping, performance management and reporting, education, training, and certification
  • Certification Development: Establish and implement a certification program to validate partner capabilities to our customers. Establish the benefits MongoDB provides by certification stage and ensure we fulfill these requirements at scale to our partners
  • Reporting and Analytical Insight: Maintain comprehensive metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of partner programs and processes. Provide analytical insight and regularly report on partners' performance to senior management. Ensure partners and MongoDB are compensated appropriately for leads and co-sell activities
  • Continuous Improvement: Constantly seek ways to improve systems and processes in line with evolving business needs and industry standards. Conduct regular reviews and assessments of current systems and implement changes as necessary
  • Design and Implement Partner Playbooks: Develop comprehensive playbooks tailored to various partner personas and stages of the partner lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, growth, and retention. These playbooks should provide clear guidelines and strategies to ensure a consistently excellent partner experience and optimize each phase of the partnership, Continually refine and iterate on these playbooks based on metrics, feedback, and evolving business needs
  • Orchestrate cross-functional resources internally and externally to support you in delivering a valuable partnership with your partners, including Product, Sales, Pre-Sales, Marketing, Legal, Partner and triangulating with other partners in our ecosystem
  • Partner Onboarding: Guide partners through each stage of their onboarding journey, including initial discovery, qualification, integration, onboarding, and promotion 
Requirements
  • 8+ years experience of business development, partnerships, product or program management, with proven examples managing complex, technical initiatives & projects from initiation to completion.
  • A degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering related fields or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing complex projects and programs with operational and organizational rigor
  • A demonstrated ability to think tactically and strategically
  • Superb organizational and operational aptitude to enable a highly effective and scalable partner ecosystem  
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and strong analytical skills with proven results
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style and delivery for a variety of audiences
Success Measures
  • In 3 months you will have:
    • Ramped up on MongoDB products, customers, and partnerships 
    • Established relationships with internal cross-functional stakeholders
    • Developed an understanding partner lifecycle and necessary programs at the various stages
  • In 6 months you will have:
    • Established an internal working team and effective communication channels for cross-functional collaboration
    • Developed initial programs and playbooks for priority stages of the partner experience
    • Guided multiple partners through the onboarding process
  • In 12 months you will have:
    • Implemented multiple cross-functional partner programs, playbooks, and systems driving meaningful improvements to efficiency and scalability 
    • With hands-on experience onboarding many partners, developed a deep understanding of our partner journey and developed strategies to significantly optimize it
