The ChallengeWe're looking for a talented and passionate Principal Software Engineer to join a geographically distributed agile product team. AI Developers are responsible for new software application development and integration work, including modification and optimization of code with a focus on performance. This person will influence and execute the technical strategy for Responsible AI and roadmap for products, making decisions on technologies that are robust and scalable.
Your MissionThe Principal Software Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing artificial intelligence solutions to solve complex problems. This involves designing and developing machine learning models and algorithms, analyzing data, and improving existing AI systems.
- Development
- Support development of web and mobile interfaces for product module or new prototypes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript, Angular 8+, React, Ember and/or the designing, development, and unit testing of applications deployed to MS Azure while assisting with cloud application architecture using Drupal, Python, Core Java, REST, and the Spring ecosystem
- Achieve at least 80% code coverage or per the revised standards set by the team
- Collaboration
- Work closely with UX, Product Managers and/or Product Owners, as well as other developers to contribute to planning and grooming sessions and drive team’s discussions on system architecture and component design
- Support the team to ensure all committed stories for the sprint are completed per the sprint goal
- Support
- Work toward reducing total number of defects in the module/product to industry standards by catching and fixing issues early in development
- Ensure critical and high priority CII’s are delivered per SLA
- Code Review
- Conduct peer reviews to improve code quality
- Help junior developers follow development testing, exploratory testing, AI testing and/or test automation
- Lead
- Help build high-performing teams, grow and mentor the technical skills within the team and create development opportunities for them
You are someone who is comfortable with complex codebases and able to multiple sophisticated software development tasks with minimal direction. A self-learner who is comfortable as a subject matter expert and open to new technologies, processes, or techniques to improve your ability to deliver high quality software and have a strong sense of ownership and experience delivering creative solutions for complex problems.
Your Experience Includes- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical or business field
- 10+ years of professional software engineering/development experience
- Experience with either frontend (HTML5, CSS, Typescript, JavaScript) or backend (Core Java, Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Docker, etc.)
- Recent development experience using Angular, React, Python, or Java 7+
- Familiarity with public cloud providers such as (Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS)
- Experience or familiarity with DevOps
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Deployment
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) using modern technologies
For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.
