Role Description

We are looking for a technical leader to help shape the architecture and services for Dropbox’s Enterprise Search initiative. This will involve defining the vision and roadmap for search in enterprise settings, spanning traditional lexical search, semantic search, and modern multi-turn RAG-based LLMs. In addition, this leader will define how to integrate structured data inputs for use in RAG, such as construction of a knowledge graph; and, of course, how to do so in a privacy preserving and compliant manner. This leader will need to be able to effectively partner across groups that are building different aspects of the overall system, which include low-level infrastructure, appropriate API abstractions, and applied Machine Learning.

Responsibilities
  • You will bridge the gap between infrastructure, enterprise experiences, search, and machine learning experts across Dropbox to help shape how we architect and build the Enterprise Search system
  • You will build delightful products and experiences for millions, while working alongside an excellent, multi-functional team across Engineering, Product and Design
  • You will help craft the direction, vison, and roadmap for modern Enterprise Search, including automated knowledge base construction, at Dropbox
Requirements
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field involving large scale distributed systems, or equivalent technical experience
  • 12+ years of experience building consumer- or enterprise-facing large-scale distributed systems
  • Demonstrated skill developing distributed systems that incorporate multiple machine learning techniques in a combination of offline and online modes
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated passion for helping others leverage machine learning
  • Proven software engineering skills
