About the Team

Crunchyroll’s Security team is focused on partnering with teams across the organization to provide secure solutions and protect company assets as we serve the Anime community. We provide Security, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), Data Privacy, and Network Infrastructure services to the enterprise. About The Role

As a Privacy Analyst at Crunchyroll, you will play a critical role in centralizing and leading the data privacy program across our subsidiaries. This position demands a dedicated professional who can manage and standardize data privacy processes, maintain privacy technologies, and serve as the primary contact for privacy-related partnerships and escalations. Your mission will be to ensure our data privacy efforts are scalable, compliant, and efficient as our company grows and faces increasing regulatory demands. This position will report into our Director of Security and is required to be hybrid in our Dallas office.

About You
  • 3 years of experience in data privacy operations or a related field
  • Strong understanding of global data protection laws including GDPR, CCPA, and LGPD, etc.
  • Experience with data privacy management tools such as OneTrust
  • Experience with data management, architecture, and system integrations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with various teams
Pluses
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a global consumer environment
  • Certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, or CIPM)
  • Experience in automation and integrating privacy technology solutions
  • Prior experience in handling regulatory audits and compliance checks
A Day In The Life

Data Privacy Fulfillment

  • You own and manage the data privacy processes including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and other regulatory requirements and various non-compliance data request (access, deletion, etc.) flows
  • You process data privacy requests and cases efficiently using OneTrust
  • You handle third-party deletion requests and ensure that they are processed in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • You provide detailed workflows to assist engineering teams in creating automations or you create these yourself
  • You update data maps and ensure that our data deletion flows stay up to date with our growing business and tools
  • You act as the official point of contact for internal and external data privacy inquiries, partnerships, and escalations
  • You drive the prioritization and development of automation and technology solutions to enhance data privacy processes.

Collaboration

  • You collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure that all data privacy documentation, workflows, and logs are comprehensive, up-to-date, and compliant with legal standards
  • You collaborate with Legal, Product, Engineering, and CX to inform data privacy or data deletion workflows to ensure compliance
  • You collaborate with and standardize data privacy workflows and technologies across various teams such as Legal, Trust & Safety, Product & Engineering, Security Engineering, and Customer eXperience 
  • Partnering with teams across the company to monitor and implement Data Privacy standards

Support

  • Supporting the GRC and Privacy Programs as needed
  • Staying up to date on technology trends and Data Privacy best practices
  • Supporting our team and improving internal processes
  • You stay up-to-date with emerging data privacy legislation and global data privacy regulations.
  • You leverage best practices and industry standards regarding data privacy and data deletion processes
