Please note that we are an in-office company, which means the expectation is that you would come in to your Applied Intuition office 5 days a week.

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Director/Artist with expertise in procedural pipelines in Houdini and Unreal. The primary focus will be to create a procedural world generation pipeline to generate 3D worlds from HD maps and lidar scans. Those worlds then go into our customized version of Unreal Engine 5 and have to run smoothly whilst looking photorealistic. 

At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Create an automated pipeline that can generate large photorealistic performant 3D worlds
  • Create novel solutions to improve fidelity, performance and scalability
  • Work with artists to develop the content and tooling needed to fill out the worlds
  • Supply metadata to drive Unreal’s material systems
  • Work with vex and Python to create flexible pipelines that plug into Houdini and Unreal
  • Create custom importers for data with Python or HDK

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Is an expert Houdini user
  • Has in-depth knowledge of procedural generation
  • Is familiar with the Unreal Engine (or equivalent)
  • Is familiar with automation, scripting, and proceduralism

Nice to have:

  • C++ experience
  • Unreal experience
  • Material/shader experience
  • Pipelining experience

The salary range for this position is $65,000 USD to $400,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices.
