⭐️ Our FinCrime Assurance Team:
FinCrime Assurance is a key activity in the bank. As a team, we measure the effectiveness of financial crime controls by conducting regular QA reviews of tasks completed by investigators. Our ability to do this effectively relies on clear, consistent, and testable process documentation.
You’ll be joining a diverse and dedicated team, working together to assess control effectiveness and help the bank identify and remediate control issues. You will play a critical role in ensuring the foundational documents our team and the wider FinCrime Operations teams rely on are of the highest standard.
🔑 You’ll play a key role by...
We are looking for a meticulous and structured Process Governance Analyst to oversee our financial crime process documentation, ensuring it is clear, consistent, and effective for our operational teams. In this role, you will not own the content of the procedures, but you will own the framework that governs them. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all procedure documents are logical and testable.
As a Process Governance Analyst, you will be a critical review partner for any proposed changes, providing essential assurance that they meet the high standards you will help set and maintain. You will work closely with control and procedure owners across the FinCrime collective, guiding them to produce documentation that can be easily understood and effectively assessed by our quality assurance teams. This is a senior analyst role, equivalent to the L40 Associate Lead Analyst level on the FinCrime progression framework.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Documentation Assurance & Approval: Acting as a key approver for all documentation changes, providing assurance that every update is clear, logical, unambiguous, and consistent with other documents of the same type before publication.
- Championing Operational Clarity: Prioritising the needs of the end-user by ensuring all documentation is written with absolute clarity for our operational teams. This focus on clear, unambiguous guidance is the foundation that enables effective quality assurance testing.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with control owners and procedure writers to review their suggested updates, providing constructive feedback and guidance to improve the quality and clarity of their submissions.
- Partnering with Change Coordination Teams: Partnering with control owners, operational teams, and change specialists to agree on realistic go-live dates for process updates. You will ensure there is adequate time for training and will coordinate with the FinCrime Assurance team to align QA testing schedules, ensuring a smooth and effective rollout of all changes.
- Developing Documentation Standards: Designing, implementing, and maintaining the standards and governance framework for FinCrime process/ procedure documentation.
- Documentation Conversion: Migrating existing documentation into new and streamlined process overviews.
- Periodic Review Management: Overseeing the periodic review lifecycle for all process documentation, ensuring control owners are prompted to review and re-attest to their documents at the required frequency (e.g. annually).
- Process Integrity: Ensuring that the links between policies, standards, and their implementing procedures are logical and clearly maintained.
- Centralised Oversight: Maintaining oversight of the entire suite of FinCrime process documentation to ensure consistency and prevent conflicting or duplicative guidance.
- Wider Team Support: Supporting wider FinCrime Assurance initiatives and analyst responsibilities during periods of lower procedural workflow, contributing to the assurance team's broader objectives.
🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…
- You have significant experience in process management, technical writing, or a governance/oversight role, preferably within a regulated Financial Crime or Fraud environment.
- You have an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for creating order and clarity.
- You are a logical and analytical thinker, with a proven ability to deconstruct complex processes and identify inconsistencies or ambiguities.
- You are an excellent communicator and skilled stakeholder manager, able to provide clear, constructive feedback and build effective working relationships.
- You have experience working with change teams, managing timelines, and working with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation.
- You are highly organised and have experience managing review cycles or tracking deliverables with multiple stakeholders.
- You understand the difference between owning a process and governing it, and are comfortable acting as an impartial champion for quality.
- You have a strong understanding of financial crime controls and the regulatory landscape.
- You are adept at creating and maintaining standards, frameworks, and official documentation.
- You are self-motivated and can work independently to manage your own workload and priorities.
