Role Description:

Symphony is seeking an experienced, and hands-on Procurement Specialist who will lead the Sourcing and Supply Chain function for Symphony. This successful candidate will globally manage purchasing/order desk, vendor relationship, etc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership: Evaluate, refine & drive procurement and Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy and communications, deliver strategic objectives, and oversee vendor selection and management activities throughout the lifecycle
  • Vendors: Lead vendor management initiatives and negotiations, driving cost reductions across the vendor spectrum. Support internal stakeholders (product & engineering, HR, finance, IT, office managers, etc) engagement with their suppliers. Act as the first point of contact for new SCM needs.
  • Risk: Responsible for supplier risk analysis and management, and work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve deliverables while minimizing cost. Monitor supplier and company contract obligations and initiate action accordingly.
  • Standards: Develop & implement organizational SCM policies/processes to ensure a consistent approach and to drive continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate: Engage with internal stakeholders to develop implementation strategies and plans to address their needs. Work with supplier quality management to ensure Supplier Quality requirements are achieved and maintained.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Collaborative team player with ability to work in cross-functional fashion.
  • Excellent communication skills and even better listening skills to champion the “voice of the internal customer”
  • Strong negotiation skills to use for large commercial deals. Understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
  • Proven experience of developing and executing supply chain processes based on the business requirements.
  • Proven experience of setting up a worldwide SCM capability across multiple countries and time zones
  • Working knowledge of finance/accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, etc. Proven record of achieving cost, delivery, quality, and time to market commitments from supply chain management perspective.
  • Great problem-solving skills to address the roadmaps of supply chain projects. Analytical mindset, but also creativity to seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches that have historically “boxed-in” procurement
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices, but doesn’t have to come from within the procurement ranks
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk management and business continuity planning
  • Ideally 10+ years of experience in supply chain management and/or procurement and 5+ years of demonstrated leadership in leading supply chain management functions highly desirable
