🚀 We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone.

We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️

📍San Francisco - Hybrid | 💰 $200,000 - $300,000 + Equity (This is a unique role, we’re open to discussions around base salary + stock options dependent on experience) | A week in the life of a Product Manager at Monzo

About us:

Customers online are 7 times more likely to use the word "Love" when describing Monzo compared with any other bank. In less than a decade, we've gone from a new challenger, with a hot coral card and only 300 customers, to the UK's leading mobile bank with over 9 million personal and business customers and growing. As we look towards the future, we want to redefine how people feel about money: helping take the stress, anxiety, self doubt and uphill struggle out of it, with a mission to make money work for everyone.

We’ve raised over $1 billion from YCombinator, Stripe, Coatue, Eric Schmidt, Mike Moritz, and others - most recently at a $4.5 billion valuation.

We launched in the US in February 2022 with early focus on building out our foundational platform. We're currently live with Checking, Money Management and Savings features with customers who are training strongly and we're looking forward to growing this to more products and reaching more customers in the US.

We’re an agile full stack team operating like an early stage startup but with the financial, operational, and engineering platform muscle of a larger company. We’re focused on building an amazing US product, shipping and iterating quickly, and deepening our product market fit. We’re looking for highly driven, enterprising people to help us achieve our mission.

What you’ll work on

Reporting to the US CEO, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team to set big, ambitious goals for an entire product area, and have the freedom to decide how to meet them. This will require you to go deep to build a truly remarkable experience that will resonate deeply with our US customers, innovate on its distribution model and steer its unit economics. If successful, you will change the trajectory of the whole company! You’ll operate with autonomy and have a massive impact on our customers’ lives and Monzo’s success.

  • Lead all aspects of our core Checking, Payments, Savings and Trends features. You'll lead a cross-functional team to design, build and profitably grow a product that deeply resonates with our US customers and elevates Monzo to a leading FinTech in the market
  • Work closely with your partners in Marketing, Design and Research to ensure we are creating and communicating the most important value propositions for our customers
  • Collaborate with the US CEO and other senior leaders to develop our US strategy
  • Be an active and influential leader within the team and foster our culture of accountability, support and a high bar for excellence
  • Collaborate with your peers across Monzo who can help you accelerate your progress and increase your odds of success (e.g., specific capabilities we don’t yet have in the US team, learnings, counsel, advice).

What we're looking for:

  • Strong product craft: you’ll know what a great product looks like and have mastered the tools/processes to get there.
  • Great decision maker: you're able to make big decisions and can leverage product data, customer insights and your own instincts to help the team move forward with urgency
  • Intellectual horsepower and energy: you can intellectually spar with our CEO and the leadership team
  • Growth: you're always looking for moments to learn and and have had a steep growth trajectory
  • Consumer product experience: you have built compelling products that consumers love.
  • FinTech experience: you’ll have some working knowledge of how to build financial consumer products (payments infrastructure, fraud/compliance constraints etc.)
  • Compelling vision: you can paint a compelling vision and communicate it clearly to our team in order to build clarity and belief
