Who We Are

The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see things not ordinarily possible and the ability to collect insights from a multitude of vantage points. As organizations rely more on cloud services and the Internet, the network has become a "black box" outside of their control. ThousandEyes gives organizations visibility and insight into the now borderless network. It arms them with an accurate understanding of how the network impacts their applications, users and customers. ThousandEyes is used by some of the world's largest and fastest growing brands, including all of the top 5 global software companies, 5 of the top 6 US banks, and 45 of the Fortune 500.

ThousandEyes' pioneered Cloud and Internet Intelligence and is widely known as the 'Google Maps of the Internet.' Today, ThousandEyes is central to the global operations of the world's largest and fastest-growing brands. The company was acquired by Cisco in August 2020, chartered with continuing to drive leadership in empowering organizations to see, understand, and improve digital experiences everywhere.

About The Team

Increasingly digital experiences rely on a vast ecosystem of internal infrastructure, ISPs, cloud providers, SaaS applications, and many other external services that are critically dependent on the Internet. While incredibly helpful in increasing innovation and decreasing costs, these trends also create dependencies that create blind spots for large enterprises that need to deliver a reliable digital experience to both employees and customers.

Our product management team focuses on solving customer’s problems in the context of these trends while advancing our business.  We do so by augmenting and expanding how we collect, ingest, visualize, and correlate insights using our market-leading application and network synthetic capabilities and dataset.

About the Role

As an intern on the Product Management team, you will be able to learn the ins and outs of product management from exceptional product leaders while working on a high-growth product that network engineering and IT Monitoring teams already love.

During your time at ThousandEyes, you will contribute to one of the following product growth areas:

  • API monitoring & application synthetics
  • Synthetic testing capabilities for new and emerging technologies
  • Automated event detection & AIOps
  • Cloud-native & enterprise traffic monitoring

Under the mentorship of our product leads, you will work cross-functionally with a product 3-in-a-box (product, design, engineering) to deliver strategic or essential features to further grow customer adoption and positively impact our business.

Within the 3 month internship, you will own the end-to-end delivery of one or more product features where you will be expected to:

  • Drive the effort to talk to customers and further clarify their needs and pain points
  • Work cross-functionally with product design and engineering to further define the feature
  • Partner with engineering in development to validate the feature was built to specification
  • Deliver the feature to customers by working with our product marketing, documentation, and product solutions architects to properly enable customer-facing account teams.
  • Monitor metrics and gather qualitative feedback to validate the effectiveness of the feature and synthesize learnings for future improvements.

What we are looking for:

  • Technical Acumen: You will work closely with engineering to understand technical tradeoffs and their impact on the product. Being comfortable in the code is a plus, but not required.
  • Product Sense: Our favorite product managers bring together insights from every corner (customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams) to design and build the best product experience.
  • Curiosity: The best candidates understand that creativity and growth start with a curious, humble mindset and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Ownership: The best product managers take the responsibility of delivering a successful product to heart, and step in wherever needed, even if crossing typical role boundaries; they never shy away from the details nor lose sight of the bigger picture.
  • Communication: Effective communication to any audience (company leadership, engineering, customers, and more) is key to success in this role.
  • Attitude & Ambition: The best candidates are smart, hard-working, competitive, and not afraid to fail. They are team-first but willing to take the lead with minimal guidance and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in MBA OR graduate courses OR previous experience in product management, especially with Enterprise SaaS software products
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical field OR previous experience in a technical role OR
  • experience or understanding of networking concepts, monitoring tools, cloud provider platforms, data analytics or visualizations

 Why Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference, powering an inclusive future for all.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do –you can’t put us in a box! But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.) Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colorful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us.

We recognize that diverse teams make the strongest teams, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
