About the Role

Join Okta's dynamic Access Management team in Bangalore, India, as a passionate and technically astute Product Manager, driving the future of secure identity. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the product strategy and roadmap for core platform capabilities that underpin Okta's Access Management offerings. You will work closely with engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to deliver foundational product experiences that enable rapid, reliable, and secure innovation for our customers.

This critical role will specifically peer with the Backend Engineering Manager for Access Management Foundations, fostering a deep strategic partnership to collaboratively define technical requirements, prioritize foundational platform investments, and drive the execution of shared, high-impact goals. You will translate complex technical capabilities into clear product value propositions and ensure our platform continues to scale, perform, and meet the evolving needs of our enterprise customers.

Work Mode: Hybrid (2-3 days Onsite per week)

What You'll Do

• Define Product Strategy: Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for platform foundation of access management, aligning with the overall company objectives and market trends.
• Roadmap Ownership: Own and prioritize the product roadmap for platform foundations team, working in close collaboration with the Engineering Manager to balance new features, technical debt, and scalability.
• Gather Requirements: Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify pain points, opportunities, and unmet needs.
• Translate Needs into Features: Translate high-level business requirements and user stories into detailed product specifications and use cases for the engineering team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with engineering, design, quality assurance, and other product teams across different geographies to ensure successful product delivery from conception to launch.
• Launch & Iterate: Partner with marketing, sales, and customer success to develop go-to-market strategies, and continuously monitor product performance, iterating based on data and feedback.
• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to all relevant stakeholders, from engineering teams to executive leadership.
• Market Evangelism: Be an internal and external advocate for your product area, representing our solutions at industry events and customer engagements.

What You'll Bring

• Required over 7+ years of total experience and 3+ years of experience in product management, preferably with experience in platform, infrastructure, or foundational product areas within a B2B SaaS company.
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand and engage deeply with complex backend systems, distributed architectures, API design principles, and security protocols. Prior software development experience in relevant technologies is a significant plus.
• Demonstrated ability to define and deliver successful product roadmaps, balancing strategic vision with tactical execution.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams in an Agile development environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• A "customer-first" mindset with a passion for solving complex problems and delivering exceptional user experiences.
• Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) concepts (SSO, MFA, Provisioning, Directories) is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
