It’s an exciting time here at Butternut Box. As a company, we're on a rapid growth trajectory, expanding into new European markets and now offering our products both in-store and online. Our mission is simple yet profound: to bring health and happiness to as many dogs as possible, and our Digital Product plays a pivotal role in achieving this mission. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Product Manager II to join our Platform pod, with a primary focus on Commerce Tools & Payments. This means you’ll take ownership of our internal product suite, which spans from our Payments platform to our Direct Sales App. This role will be a fundamental part of ensuring the business can keep on growing at its current pace. You’ll spearhead the team’s strategy, putting together the roadmap and managing the execution of the plan. In this role, you’ll lead the Product side of a Product + Engineering team , collaborating extensively with members of our Product Design, Engineering, and Insight teams. You’ll also work closely with cross-functional partners across Operations, Supply Chain, Direct Sales, Finance and Customer Love.

While Product Management experience is definitely a bonus, we’re excited to hear from anyone who has a passion for solving complex problems, driving efficiency or diving deep into feature sets to make them the best they can be. In this role you can expect to be:

  • Driving major change in our digital product proposition, deepening the value of Butternut for our customers and the business.
  • Influencing the strategy of our digital product, and driving the roadmap and strategy of your pod. You’ll be working closely with your stakeholders to find the biggest opportunities.
  • Setting clear goals and metrics for your product and feature sets, and being accountable for achieving them.
  • Prioritising the work of your team, accounting for the cost, impact, and risk of different opportunities and projects.
  • Ensuring everyone has clarity on their team’s progress and plans going forward.
  • Driving quantitative insights – defining metrics, running analyses, gathering insight from A/B testing, and collaborating with analysts to define and answer more complex analytical questions.
  • Driving qualitative insights – talk to users regularly to understand what’s working, what’s not, and help shape our thinking.
  • Running your team’s process, optimising for clarity, impact, and sustainable throughput.
  • Defining the scope of projects and ensure continual clarity on the spec.
  • Helping evolve our processes for how we approach product development and make sure we have the tools we need to maximise efficiency and impact.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders from around the business on solving problems for their teams and gathering useful insight into the teams’ plans and projects.

  • Loves dogs. Naturally.
  • A passion for scale-ups and Product Management.
  • You’re an entrepreneurial type, who doesn’t need direction to make things happen.
  • You have 4+ years experience in either Product Management or E-Commerce.
  • You have strong analytical and commercial skills. You know how to put together a business cases and can talk to commercial stakeholders in their language.
  • You have strong project management skills, and know how to ensure a project is delivered to a high quality bar.
  • Your communication skills are one of your strengths and you can quickly and easily gather support for your ideas, and champion them with exec-level communication.
  • You have the ability to grasp long-term strategic plays and initiatives that drive company growth.
  • You can make tough decisions quickly, and you’re right most of the time about them.
