PRODUCTION COORDINATOR - TOOL AND DIE (STARLINK)

The Tool and Die Production Coordinator plays a vital role within SpaceX’s manufacturing and production teams. Production Coordinators work in support of all insource manufacturing leadership staff to ensure the on-time delivery of components and assemblies through the insource manufacturing process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the demand plan for tooling assemblies supporting injection molding, high-pressure die casting, and stamping
  • Monitor and track the bill of materials in MRP systems for the product scope
  • Execute purchasing transactions within scope by issuing purchase orders for SpaceX tool and die programs and ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain product master data and develop expertise in all material planning systems and reports
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and distributors to ensure communication channels are active with real time delivery information and work in progress
  • Monitor spend to ensure adherence to project-specific cost and forecasts
  • Proactively update SpaceX management and engineering teams on all critical supply issues
  • Analyze available manufacturing data and develop metrics as required to drive optimal results
  • Work with manufacturing supervisors and managers to ensure all metrics driven action requirements are completed
  • Develop and maintain reports to highlight needs, scheduling, deliverables, and constraints as required for internal and customer use
  • Communicate component, tool status and estimated completion dates to leadership weekly
  • Proactively manage inventory, prevent stock outs while optimizing the utilization of SpaceX working capital
  • Develop, coordinate, maintain, and communicate manufacturing schedules
  • Assist with resolution of incorrect system data which is driving inappropriate demand, schedules, or could result in general failure
  • Coordinate off-site processing of parts to ensure on-time delivery as required
  • Work with the procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure our MRP/ERP data is and remains clean and accurate
  • Support assigned manufacturing areas with work order management activities as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or administrative environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience navigating multitier bill of materials and work orders
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel & Project, able to create pivot tables or macros, and analyze data
  • 2+ years of professional manufacturing scheduling or coordinating experience
  • 2+ years of practical experience using ERP/MRP systems in a production environment
  • Demonstrated ability to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness by thinking strategically and critically and building broad, cross-functional relationships
  • Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage program plans and schedules
  • Experience creating and managing dashboards using data visualization tools
  • Experience with sharing information and influencing others across organizational lines, internally and externally
  • Experience working in a highly demanding and fast paced environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to travel - up to 50% work week travel may be required, including international travel
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones
  • This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not considered

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:

  • Production Coordinator/Level 1: $20.00 - $23.00/hour
  • Production Coordinator/Level 2: $22.50 - $27.00/hour
  • Production Coordinator/Level 3: $25.00 - $30.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
