PRODUCTION COORDINATOR, AVIONICS (STARSHIP)

Our team is not only designing and building some of the finest electrical hardware to have flown in space but also doing so at a cost and rate previously considered unthinkable in the space industry. Become a part of this fast moving and world class avionics production team, work with super smart and motivated engineers, and achieve truly audacious goals. As a Starship Electronics Production Coordinator, you will keep the department organized and ensure the team has the materials and work processes required to build successfully on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Plan future work orders
  • Set the production schedule to reduce downtime associated with changeovers, and ensure no late deliveries to vehicles; check RFI components required for future builds
  • Create systems to keep components organized
  • Load Pick and Place component feeders, and direct SMT technicians on the loading of feeders
  • Backfill on SMT manufacturing equipment when required
  • Support team members to meet rate and quality targets at each station, and promote continuous flow by communicating blockers and reporting downtime to supervisor and specialists
  • Remove defective product from line, and communicate quality issues to manufacturing/quality engineering team for resolution
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
  • Monitor part supply levels and maintain tooling and consumable supply inventory
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times
  • Provide on the job training for a team of production associates and technicians
  • Develop and implement cost reductions processes and efficiency improvement measures
  • Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process, and support no defects from leaving a station or team area

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience RFI’ing, kitting, and organizing work orders

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in electronics, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing
  • Excellent computer skills (Email, Microsoft Windows, ERP/MRP/MES systems, iOS, Executing Custom Developed Software)
  • Provide process and design improvement suggestions to engineering
  • Adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment
  • Effectively communicate (verbally and written) with engineering and production
  • Foster a team environment through collaborative leadership

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to all shifts, overtime, weekends as needed
  • Able to be mobile and on foot for extended periods
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to work in outdoor environments – heat, cold, etc.
  • Able to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
  • Able to and available for travel (up to 20% of time) to Starbase, Texas and other sites if needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:          

Production Coordinator/Level 1: $20.00 - $23.00/hour    

Production Coordinator/Level 2: $22.50 - $27.00/hour    

Production Coordinator/Level 3: $25.00 - $30.00/hour                            

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
