Program Manager, Communications & Engagement (Fixed-term)

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Advocacy, you will work closely with a broad cross-section of teams across Mozilla with the aim to strengthen the development, distribution and consistency of our messages and engagement opportunities around trustworthy AI. As a result of your work, Mozilla will connect with a more diverse set of audiences, deepen our collaborations with key collaborators, and grow our supporter base of activists and donors.
This role will requires a high degree of coordination, collaboration and confidence in developing a variety of projects.
This is a 9 months fixed-term position
As a Program Manager, Communications & Engagament at Mozilla Foundation, you will work on… Program Management (40%)- Create and maintain an inventory of communication and community engagement initiatives underway across Mozilla Foundation, including key activities, outputs and impacts
- Lead planning, design and implementation of 5-7 flagship projects central to our effort to expand our reach among civil society organizations and grassroots supporters
- Document and disseminate collateral materials regarding each ‘flagship project’, including frequent updates
- Work with collaborations across the organization to supervise progress against program goals, and facilitate program reporting and evaluation
- Draft metrics framework to track progress and impact across flagship projects and the related portfolio of initiatives.
- Respond to inquiries from internal colleagues across Mozilla to assess fit/opportunities against our goals
- Coordinate and supervise key flagship projects as noted above
- Supervise key deadlines, deliverables, and dependencies within the team
- Plan and organize meetings related to key initiatives
- Prepare project updates for leadership
- Develop effective project management systems and documentation
- Ability to assess projects quickly and support them to accelerate alignment, outputs and impact
- Proven success in developing and running programs in line with key strategic objectives; you are able to take a project that may be at the early stages and make it into a full-fledged project with clear objectives, outputs and goals
- Extensive experience in project management
- Experience tracking projects using various tools, such as Asana, Trello, Airtable (No specific tool experience required)
- A proven track record of collaborating with a wide range of people at all levels in remote environments
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate conversations with differing perspectives and priorities, while connecting proposed work and outcomes to engagement strategy when required
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and prioritize multiple projects on fast-paced schedules
- Meeting design and facilitation skills
- Communications, community relations or community engagement experience preferred
Salary and Benefits Information:
The Mozilla Foundation is dedicated to fair and equitable compensation for our staff. We aim to pay a competitive and market-based salary based on the responsibilities and requirements of the role. We do not ask for, or take into account, salary histories in our offer process.
The starting salary ranges for this role are listed below. These four countries are where we most commonly employ staff (compensation is listed on a yearly 30 hrs/week work schedule):
- Germany: [€56,460 - €63,412] [target salary offer - €58,192]
- UK: [£46,785 - £52,546] [target salary offer - £48,220]
- Canada: [$97,470 - $109,471] [target salary offer - $100,460]
- US: [$72,200 - $81,089] [target salary offer - $74,415]
Some regions fall into a higher salary market and this is reflected in the example ranges below:
- Inner London: £58,482 - 65,682 (target salary offer - £60,276)
- New York: $86,640 - $97,307 (target salary offer - $89,298)
