Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Program Manager, Launch Operations in Plantation, FL to join our Chewy Vet Care team. This position is an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to help launch new Chewy Vet Care veterinary clinics! The person in this role will travel to each new site and will be responsible for onsite medical and non-medical receiving and stocking as well as auditing site readiness against our playbooks, acting as an owner to sure each clinic is set up for success. In non-travel weeks, the person in this role will coordinate future site launch planning and simplify and scale our launch playbooks and processes. This is a hybrid travel (up to 80%) and remote role.

What You’ll Do:

  • Inventory Receiving Week: Partner with Practice Manager and Lead Vet Tech for onsite medical and front of house inventory receiving week. Receive, reconcile, stock, and organize inventory. Wash and prepare medical inventory and surgical packs.
  • Onsite Lead: Lead Receiving Week in partnership with the Practice Manager. Demonstrate strong judgement, flexing between leading and supporting the Practice Manager as needed, earning their trust and ensuring they have what they need for their clinic to provide Chewy Vet Care’s high standard of care.
  • Day-to-Day Launch Operations: Manage the day-to-day schedule and store setup activities, ensuring tasks are completed on time and according to playbook.
  • Audit Site: Audit site against defined playbooks. Own final site audit and sign off for handover. Contact appropriate team members in a timely manner to coordinate resolution of any open items.
  • Signage and Reference Materials: Hang required permits and licenses. Post and/or set out site binders, reference materials, and job aides.
  • Employee Setup Training/Coaching: Act as a role model and coach for Practice Manager and lead veterinary technician while onsite. Provide support and take ownership of ensuring the team is set up for success.
  • Preparation and Coordination: Coordinate new site setup and launch support across teams (construction, facilities, IT, medical, operations). Publish onsite plan for each day from construction substantially complete through the first two weeks of launch inclusive of documentation and communication of onsite responsibilities and handoff plans between teams.
  • Pre-Launch activities: Organize and print necessary licenses, permits, signage, binders, planogram modules for placement in each site.
  • Continuous Improvement: Take on continuous improvement opportunities to identify ways to simplify and scale our launch processes and playbooks.
  • Retrospectives: Own post launch retrospectives (backward looking review) to identify areas of opportunity or gaps. Confirm owners for all action items and follow them through to completion.

What You’ll Need:

  • Willingness to travel to new sites, up to 80%.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success working with cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated results in managing complex projects from planning through execution
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with diverse cross functional teams. High level of empathy and ability to relate to clinical staff.
  • High attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable writing flash reports with visibility to leadership.
  • Flexibility to work nontraditional hours during store setup time periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Stand, push, pull, carry, squat, and kneel.

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Background as a Veterinary technician and knowledge of veterinary medicine.
  • Previous experience in store or clinic setup.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet.
