Lyft is looking for an experienced Public Policy Manager to join our Public Policy team. This role will be based in Quebec and require some travel and evening availability. This individual will engage in policy engagement and strategy development on a range of policy issues that are pivotal to our growth. This person will advance Lyft’s reputation for advocating on social issues related to transportation access and equity. The ideal candidate will have experience working on transportation, labour, and related issues, for a company or government.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent Lyft in interactions with government legislators, regulators, and officials in meetings and  public events
  • Speak publicly on behalf of Lyft at events, and with media in coordination with Lyft Communications team
  • Create strategy to develop strong and consistent engagement with government officials to advance Lyft public policy
  • Work cross-functionally with internal staff developing public policy strategies that advance Lyft’s operations and business interests 
  • Inform company stakeholders and lines of business on legislative and regulatory developments 
  • Maintain relationships with industry trade associations, third party stakeholders and relevant policy coalitions 
  • Track and respond to government inquiries and requests on policy issues
  • Manage external consultants to assist with key Lyft policy priorities
  • Draft comments, talking points and memos for senior Lyft executives 
  • Plan and execute visits of the company’s executive leadership in regional markets with respective government officials
Experience:
  • 6-7 years of relevant government  and/or business experience preferred
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Law or Masters degree preferred 
  • Proven entrepreneurial and scrappy spirit 
  • Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Natural connector and relationship builder 
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
  • Ability to thrive and be responsive in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter; intrinsically motivated and a good teammate
