About the role

The Publicity Manager for Theatrical Films will help shape the strategy for all of Crunchyroll's theatrical releases in North America and beyond. You will have a global focus on strategy and a local (UCANZ) emphasis on execution. Reporting to our Director of Publicity for Theatrical Films & Awards, you will collaborate with our Distribution, Communications, Audience Development, Brand Management, Title Marketing, Creative Services, and Events teams, working on a diverse range of anime films, including blockbusters, event-style releases, and arthouse films.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will plan and execute publicity campaigns for films, from acquisition to box office
  • You will collaborate with agencies on the daily work of campaigns
  • You will pitch and liaise with media to convey Crunchyroll's theatrical narrative
  • You will work with voice actors and other film talent on media tours, interviews, and events
  • You will coordinate all film assets, including press materials, screeners, and stills
  • You will manage press breaks and attending to premiere, screening, and festival appearances
  • You will track awards calendars and deadlines, submitting films for various awards

This contract position is based in our Culver City office, and offers a hybrid work schedule

About You

  • You have 5+ years of related experience in theatrical film publicity
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field required
  • You have media contacts across various verticals, including entertainment, film, and genre media (print, broadcast, online, etc.)
  • You are familiar with anime, fandom communities, pop culture, and current entertainment trend
  • You can focus and sculpt communications (spoken and written) to best meet our needs
  • You are proficient in Microsoft 365 and GSuite, with high fluency in PowerPoint and Keynote
  • You have led a multi-functional, multi-level team across time zones
  • You are available for domestic and international travel

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
