This role reports into our Boston office Monday-Thursday (remote flexibility on Friday).

Are you passionate about driving positive change and empowering communities? The Purpose & Inclusion team at Wayfair is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to lead DEI and Social Impact initiatives. In this highly visible role, you will report directly to the Global Head of Purpose & Inclusion. As a trusted support partner to the Global Head, you will help create, spearhead, and execute strategic roadmaps. You’ll stay attuned to industry trends and developments within Wayfair, serving as an internal and external ambassador for our company’s conscious efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of creating a vision and executing it amidst ambiguity. This person must have a passion for making a difference, an eagerness to challenge the status quo, and a commitment to advocating for others. The Purpose & Inclusion team owns Wayfair's DEI and Social Impact initiatives. Our mission is to drive positive change and empower the creation of strong, supportive communities, both within our workplace and in external communities.

For Inclusion: We address inequalities in the employee journey at the root and create specific resources that bring awareness to and eliminate barriers that prohibit Wayfair from having a fair and inclusive workplace experience for all.

For Purpose: We spearhead initiatives that bring positive change to our communities, partnering with nonprofits focused on supporting housing and a sense of home for all and empowering our employees to give back in meaningful ways. 

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with non-profit organizations, working to develop tailored engagement strategies to highlight our shared missions 
  • Partner with our people analytics team to conduct various DEI analyses
  • Assist with writing our annual Corporate Responsibility  report
  • Lead all employee volunteerism & giving  efforts, such as:
    • Partner with key stakeholders to plan volunteer events at our offices across Wayfair’s global footprint
    • Manage Wayfair’s employee matching program and relevant giving campaigns through the year
  • Advise key stakeholders, including ERG leaders, on building community within their organizations
  • Work cross-functionally to drive Purpose & Inclusion initiatives
  • Partner with the Global Head of Purpose & Inclusion on strategic planning and identifying areas of opportunity
  • Proactively execute against the Purpose & Inclusion roadmap, identifying and removing roadblocks
  • Train and manage a rotating team of co-ops
  • Develop DEI training materials
  • Collaborate with Wayfair’s internal and external communication teams to enhance awareness to Wayfair’s Purpose & Inclusion strategy and key initiatives 
  • Manage our internal and external donations process
  • Travel 1-2 times each quarter to visit various Wayfair locations and non-profits within and outside the United States

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of experience creating a vision and path to execution from an ambiguous problem
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate and persuade effectively
  • Confidence as a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Demonstrated leadership presence and effective management skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects and delegate tasks appropriately
  • Strong relationship management and building skills, with a knack for forging relationships founded on trust and empathy 
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to identify root causes of problems and implement solutions
  • Proven experience in taking on big challenges and delivering results despite obstacles and limited resources
  • Experience managing others (preferred)
  • Passion for DEI and Social Impact
