We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer (Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test) to lead test automation for our Okta Digital Engineering team. Our mission: to enable teams across the company to scale through experimentation and the delivery of high-impact, customer-facing web experiences. Our websites receive over 100 million visits monthly and span both traditional Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and modern headless AEM + React/Next.js applications hosted on Vercel.

Given the scale and complexity of these platforms, we need a strong technical leader to build out our automation strategy and frameworks from the ground up. You’ll partner closely with developers, designers, and QA stakeholders to ensure speed and quality go hand-in-hand.

You will:
  • Own the design, implementation, and evolution of automated testing frameworks (UI, API, integration, performance, and accessibility).
  • Build and maintain test suites across AEM, Next.js, and other frontend frameworks (e.g., Vue.js), validating both content and component rendering.
  • Develop automated API and integration tests covering server-side logic and REST APIs (primarily Node.js-based services).
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AEM Cloud Manager, and Vercel.
  • Leverage design tools like Figma for validating UI layouts, visual correctness, and test planning.
  • Establish scalable approaches for accessibility testing (e.g., WCAG 2.1 using Axe, Lighthouse, and JAWS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure testing strategies align with product goals and release cycles.
  • Monitor and improve test performance and maintainability using modern metrics, reporting, and dashboards.
You might be a good fit if you:
  • Have 5+ years of experience in SDET or QA automation roles with web platforms and modern frameworks.
  • Have strong experience building automation using JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Have tested applications built on Adobe Experience Manager (both traditional and headless) and component-based JavaScript frameworks like Next.js or Vue.js.
  • Are comfortable testing REST APIs and validating backend-to-frontend integration.
  • Have experience using Figma or similar tools for validating UI behavior and layout fidelity.
  • Can write and automate accessibility tests, ensuring compliance with WCAG standards.
  • Are familiar with performance testing tools (e.g., Lighthouse, WebPageTest, k6) and methodologies for page speed and load.
  • Thrive in a collaborative Agile team, and enjoy mentoring others and improving processes.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with AEM GraphQL APIs, model.json, or content fragments.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Vercel previews, or AEM Cloud SDK.
  • Exposure to visual regression testing tools like Percy or Applitools.
