Quality Engineering Manager

Within the Customers organization, we put our Drivers and Riders at the forefront of everything we do. In order to fulfill our customer obsession we are looking for the leader who can set our Quality Assurance and Test Automation strategies and build and support the teams to achieve them. You will work in partnership with developers, designers, product managers, and other engineering managers to establish processes and best practices that ensure we’re shipping high quality products that serve our customers.
Responsibilities:- Manage a growing team of Quality Assurance Engineers and Software Engineers in Test who are responsible for ensuring quality across our customer-facing products
- Own the long term vision and roadmap for how Quality works within the Customers organization. Establish best practices among Engineering, Product, and Design teams to work collaboratively towards these goals.
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members, including other managers and senior individual contributors. Help develop their careers and assign them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals.
- Inspire a culture of quality across the organization by advocating for QA best practices, enabling cross-functional collaboration, and fostering ownership of quality among all team members. Drive the cultural shift toward quality as a shared responsibility across engineering, product, and QA teams.
- Manage QAE/Test Automation Teams Capacity setting priorities and work on roadmaps.
- Operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams, and navigate ambiguity with only high level direction.
- Grow the team by working with recruiting to identify and hire excellent and diverse engineering and leadership talent.
- Define procedures/guidelines for Testware management.
- Serve as an escalation point between project teams and senior management when risks or issues are found during test execution.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics to measure the effectiveness of QA efforts and their alignment with business objectives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development and testing.
- 4+ years of experience in people management, including a demonstrated history of team building and leadership development.
- Experience in managing and executing test strategies and test plans.
- Experience defining test automation strategies.
- Experience defining QA & Testing training programs and KT mechanisms.
- Have worked on mobile and web platforms and have a very good understanding of and ability to troubleshoot the testing ecosystem (plus points for mobile experience).
- Deep understanding over different Software development models(Agile, interactive,V-Model, others).
- Experience of prioritizing and coordinating work across a large number of product teams.
- CI/CD and Devops knowledge.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- QA & Testing Certifications (ISTQB other than Foundations Level) .
- Knowledge on any QA & Testing Maturity model (TMMI, TPI, others).
- Experience managing testing of mobile applications.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule following the establishment of a Lyft office in Mexico City — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
