QUALITY INSPECTOR (STARLINK ENTERPRISE) – 1ST SHIFT

As a Starlink Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for executing a wide variety of inspections, nonconformance documentation, and resolution of Starlink Enterprise products. This role will be focused on mobility, ground systems, commercial products, and test equipment. You will work closely with Starlink Enterprise design and certification engineers, quality specialists, and supply chain. SpaceX is looking to connect a wide variety of customers all around the world, including aviation, marine, mobile customers, and more! In this role, you would be directly involved and hands-on with accomplishing this mission!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace and commercial parts
  • Inspect the supplied product according to the applicable drawing and or work order specifications to verify that it conforms to all design requirements
  • Complete in-process inspection, visual and/or dimensional inspection of precision machined parts
  • Interact proactively with production to improve products and reduce defects
  • Communicate and help resolve quality-related issues
  • Document non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes
  • Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Work in a cross-functional environment utilizing calipers, micrometers, height and bore gauges, optical comparators, and more
  • Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements
  • Support process development for nonconforming products, and maintain records and standards in accordance with FAA requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, aviation, military or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience with blueprint reading, shop math and GD&T

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to review drawings and identify improper callouts/datum structures, according Me
  • Thorough understanding of all layout inspection tools (surface plate, height gage, indicators, calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, thread gages, etc.)

 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available for 1st Shift hours (typically 8AM to 430PM)
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min

 COMPENSATION:

Pay range:          

Quality Inspector / Level 1: $22.00 - $29.00/hour 

Quality Inspector / Level 2: $27.00 - $34.50/hour 

Quality Inspector / Level 3: $32.00 - $40.00/hour 

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
