THE ROLE

Join the FlashArray team and be the driving force behind the quality of the industry's most innovative, high-performance, and highly available storage platform. You will ensure our constant flow of exciting, no-downtime upgrades reaches customers with uncompromising excellence. This mission involves deep collaboration with our world-class software engineers to design and implement rigorous test automation strategies that directly impact customer success and business reputation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Architect and own the comprehensive test plans and qualification strategies for complex, high-availability FlashArray features, directly enabling our industry-leading product releases.

  • Design and build advanced automation frameworks and tools using Python to simplify complex testing and integration workflows, significantly increasing the team's efficiency and coverage.

  • Drive root cause analysis by triaging and debugging automated test failures across our multi-machine hardware/software stack, collaborating closely with development and support teams to resolve critical customer issues swiftly.

  • Identify and close critical test gaps by analyzing failure modes, designing robust corner case and failure scenarios, and implementing new tests to strengthen our quality assurance feedback loop.

  • Ensure flawless deployment by executing interoperability testing, firmware updates, and upgrade path qualification with an acute focus on backwards compatibility and real-world customer use cases.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Expert-level proficiency in defining and implementing systems test strategies and comprehensive test plans for complex enterprise storage features.

  • Demonstrated mastery in test automation, including strong hands-on experience using Python to design, build, and maintain automation frameworks.

  • Deep knowledge of the storage stack, including high availability, caching, flash drives, RAID, deduplication/compression, and a solid understanding of filesystems, block storage, and I/O paths.

  • Strong analytical skills to design failure scenarios and analyze errors for effective root cause analysis, combined with a working knowledge of virtualization (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V) and storage protocols (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI).

  • Experience working hands-on in hardware labs or data centers with storage arrays, coupled with a deep understanding of customer workloads and IO tools like vdbench or iometer.

  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. 

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

The annual base salary range is: $145,000—$218,000 USD
