About the PositionReports To: Office ManagerLocation: Menlo Park, CA

We’re looking for a part-time Receptionist to take care of our new facility and cater to the needs of our local staff. Typical hours are Monday-Thursday 10a-2p with some flexibility, plus occasional office events. If you’re highly organized and enjoy taking care of others, keep reading. 

Responsibilities

  • Be the receptionist and greeter. You help get people where they need to go.
  • Own the kitchen and supply rooms. You have a purchasing budget and you keep everybody well stocked in caffeine, sugar, some healthy stuff, and occasionally printer ink. Costco, Amazon Fresh, Staples -- they work for you!
  • Coordinate catered lunches and events for the whole office. We cater a lot!
  • Maintain our common areas like the lobby, conference rooms, and kitchen so they always look inviting and are ready for business. We tell people to put their dishes in the dishwasher, but you know how they are…
  • Wrangle deliveries and shipping so everything gets where it needs to go. You’ll probably be on a first name basis with the UPS guy!
  • Corral vendors for our facility, like the building management, cleaning vendor, security company, and EV chargers. Sometimes you have to call them to get their attention.
  • Run errands as needed to get things done. You occasionally need to drive somewhere like Costco, so of course you get paid for your time and mileage.
  • Make fun things happen -- from casual happy hours to holiday parties and everything in between. Movie night? Dart pong? If you build it...
  • Manage small projects as needed, like coordinating office upgrades or IT changes, and occasionally help make the printer work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • We're pretty easy-going, though we do have a serious side. You gotta be both, too.
  • You must have 2+ years of office management and/or assistant experience.
  • You must be able to convince us of your detailed organization and budgeting skills. Sometimes there's no escaping the use of a spreadsheet.
  • You work very independently and proactively. Everybody here is a self-starter.
  • You can balance multiple things happening at once -- and requests from multiple team members.

Preferred Qualification: 

  • A car for running errands is helpful, but not required.

CompensationThe anticipated hourly rate for this role is $20.00 - $23.00. This position is ineligible for benefits.
