Recruiter (6 month FTC)

Full Time
London, UK

📣 A bit about the role.

We are looking for a Recruiter (on an initial 6 month fixed term) to join our People Team at a very exciting time in our journey. We are growing quickly and have ambitious plans over the next few years, so this is definitely a role for someone that is comfortable (and thrives) in a fast-paced target driven environment. In this role you will be responsible for the end to end recruitment for a range of commercial, strategic & leadership positions across all levels, working directly with hiring managers to source and hire exceptional new talent to join our squad.

This role is based at our Box Office*, which is Butternut's original location in West London. We work in a synchronised hybrid model, with Wednesday and Thursday's being our office days each week. We work Monday, Tuesdays and Fridays from home.

📣 Your responsibilities will cover 3 key areas:

1. Stakeholder Management

Recruiters at Butternut are strategic partners to stakeholders, so building and maintaining strong relationships with hiring managers and key stakeholders (so we can understand their requirements and align recruitment strategies with their business goals) is a big part of the role. We provide insights, market intelligence, and guidance to hiring managers throughout the whole recruitment lifecycle. Expect to also regularly update stakeholders on the progress of open positions, ensuring clear communication and management of their expectations effectively. You'll need to know when to prioritise, pushback (or disagree & commit) and how to adapt to suit different stakeholders, to ultimately gain their trust and deliver an exceptional experience for everyone involved.

2. Headhunting

Whilst we have a great employer brand in the UK, we are a new company in our international markets meaning that application rates can be low. These positions require us to headhunt talent so we can continue to build a team of talent bar raisers. Expect to spend around 20-40% of your week utilising various sourcing techniques (e.g. Linkedin Recruiter & Otta) to strengthen candidate pipelines and gain market knowledge. If you don't enjoy sourcing, this probably isn't the right role for you.

3. Candidate assessment

As a recruiter at Butternut Box, you will be the first person that candidates meet! You'll be responsible for reviewing applications, conducting initial calls and evaluating candidates against the requirements. You'll have the support of a Talent Operations Specialist, but there will be occasions where you might have to also coordinate and schedule your own interviews, ensuring an enjoyable candidate experience. A keen eye for detail, emotional intelligence, patience and the ability to prioritise is important.

👋 A bit about you.

  • Experienced and confident with building impactful sourcing / headhunting projects from scratch
  • Experience in a similar role for an in house recruitment team (at least 2+ years in house experience)
  • Experience working in a startup or scaleup (and you loved it!)
  • Ability to build trusting relationships quickly with new hiring managers & wider stakeholders
  • Analytical and investigative nature, always #strivingforbetter
  • Passion for delivering an outstanding candidate experience that includes surprise and delights along the way
  • Passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and how People teams can have a big impact and influence
  • You love dogs, naturally. (You like people too…)

Experience working with Greenhouse as an ATS and command of German would make your application stand out.
