About the job

This position is needed to lead a high impact security operations team focused on protecting Twilio personnel, corporate sites and assets in the NAMER region.

As part of the Corporate Security Operations team, you will manage the strategy, development, and implementation of physical security operational programs, technology and personnel. This position will be hybird based in San Francisco and will report to Twilio’s Senior Manager of Global Corporate Security Operations. 

 

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders to advocate for appropriate, balanced, and reasonable risk mitigation regarding security operations
  • Oversee guardforce vendor contracts, including vendors for in-office event security coverage, risk assessment, and security software usage and vetting
  • Lead event security initiatives by providing guidance and direction to organize and manage security for various internal/external incidents
  • Strategically and holistically plan security strategies for remote work in coordination with non-security groups responsible for workforce planning
  • Lead Health & Safety initiatives to design, implement, and continuously improve operational programs regionally
  • Maintain awareness of global events that could, directly or indirectly, impact employee activities, sharing commentary, analysis and data.

Required:

  • 8+ years experience in executive protection, event security, travel security or risk management as an FTE (non-contract role)
  • Experience leading security logistics for facilities
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and explain the present or future needs for proposed security initiatives to senior management
  • Comfortable leading large cross functional initiatives, and collaborating with management from Legal, HR, Facilities, Safety and IT
  • General understanding of security systems technology and their capabilities
  • Experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments and operational security design/planning
  • Willing and able to travel to any of the Twilio facilities sites and work flexible off-hours and weekends as required.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in business, security, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in protection strategies, tactics, and technology.
  • Demonstrated technical capabilities related to protection services preferred
  • Experience chartering, managing, and maturing security programs

Location:

This role will be hybrid and based in our San Francisco, California office. 

Travel

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $102,106 - $127,700
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $108,160 - $135,200.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $120,160 - $150,200.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
