Location: Missisauga, Ontario/Remote

We are looking for a Registered Dietitian to support the nutritional alignment and administration of our newest brand, Factor: a healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service.

The Registered Dietitian will support our Associate Manager, Nutrition with weekly operations – ensuring our meals meet the dietary needs of our customers, supporting the management of the nutrition facts database, and building trust in the Factor brand via nutrition Q&A sessions with both prospective and active customers. 

You’ll work closely with our R&D, Kitchen Ops, Procurement, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to bring the Factor experience to life, playing a pivotal role in the quality of product and experience we deliver to customers across Canada.

What you will be doing:

Nutrition Data Management & Analysis

  • Conduct weekly recipe formulation reviews and verifications
  • Calculate, input, and maintain accurate nutrition data for all optimized recipes
  • Generate nutrition facts for optimized recipes (both raw and cooked), using Labelify or other required software
  • Support nutrition database management for all active and inactive recipes, updating as needed based on new ingredients suppliers/specs and other learnings
  • Assist with nutrition analysis projects, generate and document data related to nutrition analysis assumptions and ingredient inputs
  • In conjunction with the associate manager, develops and upholds nutrition standards and compiles competitive research to serve as a benchmark for guideline creation

R&D Support

  • Work closely with our R&D chefs and provide guidance as needed to keep recipes within nutrition and ingredient standards
  • Occasionally recommend alternatives (ingredients, cooking methods) that would help adhere to or improve upon nutrition facts
  • Help our R&D chefs optimize for performance and value to the customer; following a data-driven, test-and-iterate approach

Nutritional Client Support (Q&A)

  • Conduct nutrition Q&A calls with prospective and active customers.
  • Provide email support to client inquiries
  • Use scheduling platform to perform administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, client communication, and resource provision
  • Build and maintain customer and client relationships to promote customer retention and brand loyalty (within the dietitian scope). Capture client feedback through sessions, develop an understanding of client sentiment and share with relevant stakeholders.
  • Create nutrition educational materials to provide increased value for the customer

Collaborate with Marketing on nutrition-related communications

  • Create nutrition-related content for PR, social media, and marketing campaigns as well as other customer-facing initiatives
  • Provide guidance regarding nutrition and ingredient claims; compile supporting evidence for new claims

At a minimum, you have: 

  • Degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized university, combined with an accredited Dietetic Internship program
  • Valid professional  liability insurance
  • 2+ years experience practicing dietetics , including clinical counselling, nutrition analysis, food manufacturing and regulatory compliance
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented: you have a track record of turning ideas into reality, meeting deadlines, and not overlooking key details. 
  • Flexible and agile: you are excited to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and also be comfortable juggling multiple priorities at once.
  • A process-driven individual, excited about developing processes at scale and ensuring adherence across a large operational body.

Working Conditions:

It’s no surprise that as a food company, we use many ingredients that may be considered common allergens (i.e. peanuts, tree nuts, milk, etc.). Whether this role is based out of our headquarters or one of our distribution centers, it is possible that you may be exposed to such allergens in this role.
