Overall description of services: 

You will help to improve the capabilities of groundbreaking conversational AI models, making them more useful and safe. You will use your domain expertise to interact with the model and provide feedback on its behaviour.  This project would be great if you enjoy writing, are passionate about the progress of AI, and are invested in AI safety. Experience in machine learning, computer science, and AI is not required.

Time Commitments: 

You’ll provide services for 10-20 hrs a week for the duration of the project, hours are flexible.  You’ll also attend weekly meetings to connect with the team. 

Details of the services:

• Generate questions related to your domain of knowledge that require expertise to answer correctly.
• Ensure that these questions broadly cover the domain and vary in level of difficulty (i.e., target different levels of knowledge and expertise).
• Write desired answers to these questions (appropriate to the level of difficulty) with model and search engine assistance.
• Interact directly with the models: Ask a model questions and evaluate and provide feedback on the quality of its answers.
• Communicate with engineers and other AI specialists to improve these models. Identify issues and provide feedback on model outputs.
• Report progress to the team of researchers/engineers.

Individual requirements: 

• Expertise in domains such as Natural Science, Social Science, Humanities, Creative Writing- Masters, or Doctoral Degree in the above or a related domain.
• Record of publications (h-index of at least 1) in your area of expertise is required; teaching or related communication experience is also preferred.
• Writing experience (publications, blogs, teaching materials).
• Ability to explain concepts in your domain of expertise to both expert and non-expert audiences.
• Ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies. Willingness to work on and improve the state-of-the-art in conversational AI.
• Ability to formulate a structured approach to ambiguous problems.
• Ability to work independently, proactively and reliably.
• Ability to manage your time effectively and handle challenging priorities.
• Proficiency in English language
• Access to your own equipment and any other items required to perform the services.

In addition, the following would be an advantage: 

- Experience interacting with AI systems / chatbots.
