MongoDB Professional Services (PS) works with customers of all shapes and sizes, in all verticals, from tier-1 banks to small web startups, on a variety of exciting use cases. We’re looking for a highly technical individual, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, who is comfortable working closely with customers. 

This role can be based out of our Indianapolis, IN office or remotely in the United States.

Position Expectations:

The resource management team will be responsible for ensuring the right resources are assigned to the right projects at the right time to deliver the most successful projects. For this role in particular, we are looking for support for the newly formed Modernisation Factory team.

In this role you will be part of a small team that works with Delivery and Project Managers in planning and scheduling resources for global teams. You will support the determination of the organization’s demand for internal and external resources and ensure it has the capacity to meet staffing needs of projects. This role will look at the needs for the Modernisation Factory in conjunction with staffing for the North American geographic region.

We’re looking for a Resource Manager with a growth mindset and excellent communication skills.

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in resource management
  • Effective organizational & interpersonal skills, along with strong communication skills both verbal and written (communication, negotiation, collaboration, the ability to be diplomatic and stand one’s ground)
  • Experience in collaborating with other teams to fulfill resourcing requirements, including leading resourcing calls
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and develop effective stakeholder relationships
  • Critical thinking, analytical and forecasting skills
  • Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create, improve and document processes
  • Familiarity with enterprise-scale PSA systems such as Certinia, CRM platforms such as SFDC, and analytical tools
  • The ability to drive team utilization whilst maintaining high standard resourcing - the right fit for every project
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Position Expectations

As Resource Manager within the MongoDB Service Delivery organization, you will:

  • Be part of a small team of resource managers responsible for staffing geo, practice and global projects
  • Support Line Managers with activities contributing to CE development plans
  • Monitor day-to-day project activities and corresponding resourcing including leading resource meetings
  • Monitor and manage internal and external resource workload, utilization, and other productive activities 
  • Manage resource conflicts and escalate appropriately
  • Overcome resource shortages by means of resource management techniques, reallocating resources, assigning more staff, etc; inform senior management of any issues related to inability to meet clients’ needs due to resourcing
  • Provide project managers with support when it comes to resource management issues or improve resource management processes
  • Know all the current and upcoming projects run in an organization and business development activities and be able to plan resourcing accordingly  
  • Document processes (e.g. weekly utilization report, etc.). 

Measures of Success

  • CE teams in North America and the Modernisation Factory are properly staffed to meet current and future demand
  • Relevant information is gathered and documented in our systems from pre-sales to post sales to effectively assign resources.
  • PMs can assign resources through our systems effectively based on relevant characteristics
  • Manage resource requests for global and modernisation factory projects across geo and team alignment
  • Feedback loop is provided to leadership and those who schedule on a recurring basis
  • Effectively use data to back findings and introduce new practices

Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$73,000—$143,000 USD
