The Role

As a Restaurant Strategy Manager, you will lead Deliveroo’s thinking on how we drive future growth of the restaurant delivery category. You will be an expert in understanding consumer attitudes and behaviours and will translate this insight into strategies to drive demand growth globally. Working cross-functionally with our Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams, you will define our prioritised roadmap and lead or coordinate initiatives to realise our growth ambitions in restaurant delivery and to be the partner of choice for restaurants.

Reporting into the Director of Restaurant Strategy, this role offers regular exposure to senior commercial and technology leaders and the opportunity to work across all Deliveroo markets. For the successful candidate, it offers the opportunity to develop strong strategic problem-solving and project management skills as you design and implement the new and different for Deliveroo.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading the identification of opportunities to drive demand growth for the restaurant delivery category through a deep and segmented understanding of consumers attitudes, needs and behaviours
  • Prioritising the opportunities to ensure we are focused on those that will drive maximum impact for Deliveroo
  • Defining the key consumer-led, growth strategies required to unlock  priority opportunities
  • Developing the supporting investment cases and leading senior leadership decision-making on those investment cases
  • Collaborating with marketing, product and commercial leaders to cascade these strategies into future roadmaps and an aligned programme of work
  • Managing the programme execution to ensure strategies are executed effectively
  • Driving a common understanding of our restaurant growth strategy across all relevant teams
  • Collaborating with our B2B Content teams to ensure we build external recognition for our thought leadership in driving category growth

Key competencies of successful candidates

  • Problem-Solving & Strategic Thinking: leading complex analysis (qual and quant), providing  thoughtful frameworks for weighing tradeoffs in uncertain situations, understanding the strategic implications of their work, able to anticipate risks and suggest ways to mitigate.
  • Project Management: managing and progressing  multiple, complex projects in parallel that involve multiple stakeholders across markets and other Deliveroo functions
  • Business acumen:  applying knowledge of business levers to drive positive outcomes for stakeholders, consistently using good business judgement in varying contexts 
  • Communication & Influence: building trust and influence through structured, data-driven communication, making even the most complex information clear, collaborating effectively across a wide range of teams and stakeholder groups, presenting and communicating effectively upwards and downwards. 
  • Team Development:: A team player who readily collaborates cross-functionally and can resolve areas of misalignment or conflict between teams. Provides regular, constructive feedback to teammates to support team growth and talent retention. 
  • Community-Building: aActively participating in activities that strengthen Deliveroo (e.g. onboarding, training, mentoring, diversity and inclusion).
