Position Overview:

StepStone Group is seeking a Revenue Accountant with at least 3 years of accounting experience. The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day revenue and accounts receivable (AR) for the Company’s fund management fees and other types of revenue transactions in the Private Equity industry.

Competencies and Critical Skills:

The position requires a detail-oriented, proactive, and team-oriented individual. Specific duties include:

  • Revenue and AR
  • Review client contracts to gain a full understanding of fees and services
  • Set up customer, create billing schedules, and generate invoices in the ERP system
  • Monitor the AR Inbox for client inquiries, billing updates, etc.
  • Track outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries, reconciliations, and other revenue related transactions
  • Assist with intercompany fee share between other StepStone subsidiaries
  • Complete month-end tasks and reports within close deadlines
  • Treasury activities
  • Record cash receipts on client payments
  • Initiate wires for third-party payments
  • Communicate with Fund Accounting department on status of fund fee calculations and outstanding payments
  • Update payment expectations for weekly cash flow reporting
  • Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation
  • Ad-hoc reports and special projects as required

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience
  • Solid foundation in revenue recognition and accounts receivable processes
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts
  • Experience working in NetSuite preferred
  • Prior experience working with multiple entities, global offices, and foreign currencies preferred
  • Highly proficient using Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office programs
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize activities while working on multiple projects and achieve target deadlines
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of client, investment, and company information
  • Professional demeanor and an ability to work well in a team environment
  • Willingness and ability to learn in a dynamic working environment

Salary Range - $65,000 - $78,125

The salary range is an estimate of pay for this position.  Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors that can include location, education, skill, and experience.  The salary range does not include any benefits or other forms of possible compensation that may be available to employees.
