Yext is seeking a Revenue Accountant with a positive attitude and is highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced organization! This is a hands-on position with a mix of accounting and operational duties. This role will assist in the day-to-day transaction processing and accounting, prepare account reconciliations in connection with the close process, and perform financial analysis on an as-needed basis. This role will support the monthly close processes and initiate process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and can succeed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The candidate will be encouraged to go beyond the traditional accounting responsibilities of close and work on various projects, leveraging data and analytical skills to drive better company performance.

What You'll Do
  • Participate in Commissions and Revenue transactions, ensuring proper recording, reconciliation, and settlement of balances in line with ASC 606 and ASC 340-40
  • Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries for various Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts (e.g. Accounts Receivable, Deferred Commissions, Revenue, Commissions Expense, Bad Debt Expense, etc.)
  • Perform financial statement data analysis and document important business insights
  • Support and assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are performed according to US GAAP principles
  • Participate in process improvement projects to streamline, increase efficiencies, and enhance the internal controls over accounting processes and systems
  • Manipulate, reconcile, and understand large volumes of data in Excel from various internal systems and the general ledger
  • Assist in external financial reporting processes
  • Work with internal and external auditors to provide support for audited financial statements
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses to the team when requested
What You Have
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting
  • Working understanding of US GAAP
  • Ability to manipulate, manage, and decipher large amounts of data
  • Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform technical research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to collaborate in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others informed of status
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Bonus Points
  • Big 4 public accounting or public/private company corporate accounting experience; tech industry experience (specifically with a SaaS company) a plus
  • CPA or working towards completing a CPA
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Netsuite, Zuora Billing and Revenue, Blackline

The base salary at the time of hire for this position is expected to be between $56,700-$104,500. Pay ranges at Yext are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee’s job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at Yext are typically eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits, and successful candidates may also be eligible for equity (stock) based compensation and/or variable pay programs based on performance relative to goals and targets.
