We're looking for an experienced Reward Regulatory Governance Specialist to join the Reward Squad within our People Collective to help us work at scale while maintaining a people focused business and excellent culture.

Reporting to the Head of Reward Governance, you’ll be empowered to contribute towards the success of the company by contributing to the shaping of Monzo’s remuneration policy, processes and practices whilst ensuring compliance from a remuneration regulatory perspective in the UK and across the EU.

The role

You’ll be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on Reward governance and regulation, ensuring that the appropriate structures, policies and practices are in place across Monzo. This will involve keeping abreast of remuneration regulatory issues and evaluating Monzo’s remuneration policies, practices and processes against the continuously evolving remuneration regulatory landscape in the UK and across the EU. 

The role will include interpreting remuneration regulations and implementing change across Monzo in the following areas:

  • Evaluating Monzo’s remuneration policies and practices against a continuously evolving remuneration regulatory landscape in the UK 
  • Implementation of the EU remuneration regulatory requirements and compliance with the EU remuneration regulations
  • Keeping up to date with UK and EU remuneration regulatory issues
  • Managing complex remuneration/regulatory projects across the wider People collective
  • Key contributor to the shaping and application of Monzo’s remuneration policy, processes and practices from a UK and EU perspective
  • Helping to shape and develop Monzo’s reward structures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Managing the annual MRT identification process and MRT communications
  • Managing remuneration regulatory reporting
  • Managing regulatory remuneration audits 
  • Educating the People Collective on the practical impact of remuneration regulations
  • Drafting Remuneration Committee papers
  • Working closely with the wider Reward team and other internal stakeholders i.e. Risk & Compliance, Legal, Finance
  • This will be a varied and dynamic role that will need to be flexible and adapt to evolving growth areas of Monzo 

You should apply if:

  • You have knowledge of UK and EU remuneration regulations in financial services
  • You are able to review and interpret internal/external advice and implement appropriate policy and process changes 
  • You prioritise high impact work, but never neglect the details
  • You are flexible and are comfortable working with ambiguity, on-going change and changing priorities
  • You naturally consider the customer/people impact of decisions and communications
  • You have a process improvement mindset to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the services offered
  • You are independent, proactive, comfortable making decisions, and a great communicator 

The Interview Process:

Our interview process involves 4 main stages: 

  • A call with a recruiter (30 mins)
  • Initial Call with Hiring Manager (30 mins)
  • Role Specific Interview (60 mins)
  • Values & Collaboration Interview (60 mins)
