Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer

Location: Madrid, Spain (Hybrid)

ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Developer will provide expert, hands on support to plan, manage and deploy email CRM campaigns across scheduled sends and also automated/triggered lifecycle journeys.

As a core member of the team you will be one of our go to SFMC experts helping to shape our capability as we continue to grow, spotting and nurturing opportunities for our brands, developing new ways of working and helping to build the knowledge of SFMC and its applications across our teams & brands. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • AmpScript development for advanced customization in emails and CloudPages.  
  • Creation of SQL queries for data manipulation in Data Extensions and automation with Automation Studio.  
  • Responsive email design with HTML/CSS and dynamic blocks.  
  • Implementation of dynamic personalization with AMPscript or SSJS, and conditional logic based on the subscriber profile.  
  • Use of APIs to integrate Marketing Cloud with external systems.  
  • Development of Cloud Pages and dynamic landing pages.  
  • Multichannel marketing automation with triggers, advanced segmentations and automatic workflows in Automation Studio.  

BREAKDOWN OF TASKS

  • AmpScript development:  
    • Implementation of advanced personalization in emails and landing pages.  
    • Using AmpScript functions for data manipulation, such as accessing Contact and Subscriber data.  
  • Development of SQL for queries in Data Extensions:  
    • Creating SQL queries to extract, filter and manipulate data within Data Extensions.  
    • Automation of audience extraction and segmentation processes through scheduled queries (Automation Studio).  
    • Integration and normalization of data from various sources within Marketing Cloud  
  • Creating custom emails with HTML and CSS:  
    • Design and coding of responsive email templates using HTML and CSS.  
    • Application of best practices to ensure compatibility across multiple email clients.  
    • Integration of dynamic content blocks using advanced HTML and CSS code.  
  • Advanced dynamic content development:  
    • Implementation of dynamic customization using AMPscript or SSJS (Server-Side JavaScript).  
    • Configuring conditional logic to display different blocks of content based on the subscriber profile.  
    • Configuration of content rules for marketing campaigns adapted to user behavior.  
  • Development with Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS):  
    • Creation of automated processes in emails, landing pages and Cloud Pages.  
    • Using SSJS for advanced data manipulation in Marketing Cloud and other connected platforms.  
  • External data integration (APIs):  
    • Using REST API and SOAP API to integrate Salesforce Marketing Cloud with external systems.  
    • Development of scripts for importing and exporting data through APIs.  
    • Set up API calls to update, create and manage subscribers and campaign data in real time.  
  • Development of Cloud Pages and Landing Pages:  
    • Creation of dynamic web pages with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AMPscript.  
    • Development of Cloud Pages and integration of data into Data Extensions.  
    • Optimization of user experience and data capture through interactive landing pages.  
  • Automation of marketing processes:  
    • Configuring automatic workflows using Automation Studio.  
    • Development of scripts for the creation of triggers and scheduled executions.  
    • Optimization of multichannel marketing processes (mail, SMS, push notifications) using custom code.  
    • Using SQL queries and scripts to create advanced segmentations.  
  • Agile methodology and project management tools 

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL 

  • Proven experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud gained in either an agency or in-house environment
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification(s)
  • Strong background in CRM: 
    • CRM – experience in defining growth (and revenue) generating consumer lifecycle journeys (ideally with a focus on driving direct to consumer engagement & sales), briefing partners to create and setting in place test & earn underpinned by measurement 
  • Understanding of:
    • Digital –  journey analytics, tagging and implementation, platforms such as GA & Adobe
    • Social – exposure to both paid and organic as well as platforms such as Crimson Hexagon, Sprinklr 
  • Desire to continually learn and push the boundaries
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in applying Marketing Automation (eg SFMC, Adobe, Braze…)/ CDPs (eg Treasure Data. Segment etc..) Campaign Management / ESP tools to consumer challenges and journeys
  • Confidence and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Collaborative team player, open minded
  • Ability to work with and influence stakeholders at all levels
