Security Supervisor  

Location: Cranbury, NJ

We are looking for a talented Asset Protection Supervisor to join our Supply Chain Asset Protection Team. The Wayfair Security Supervisor will be responsible for the daily security operations of Wayfair for two Cranbury locations. The position will provide support to applicable stakeholders in the event of an incident.  This individual will be part of a dynamic corporate security team whose mission is to provide world class support to our partners. The Security Supervisor will report to the Cranbury Campus Global Security Manager and advise on any developing issues.

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Perform daily functions of the Wayfair Security Supervisor by leading a team of Security Professionals; including hiring, training, performance management, payroll compliance, etc.
  • Provide supportive feedback and coaching throughout the year to help management achieve security performance objectives. 
  • Lead campus security by monitoring alarms, access control, CCTV and events that may impact Wayfair’s Cranbury campus operations, property and assets.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Campus Global Security Manager and assist in the day to day security operations of the campus.
  • Plan and coordinate risk mitigation measures to threat escalations to minimize impact to Wayfair’s people and operations.
  • Perform key duties and be the key point of contact for first responders in the event of an emergency.
  • Maintain detailed records of communications and events, including incident tracking and case management. 
  • Manage and handle sensitive incidents while maintaining the company’s and affected individual's confidentiality.
  • Work in support of the Campus Global Security Manager in security related initiatives and investigations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with all levels of Supply Chain Management in your assigned area to resolve security and/or life safety related issues.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, industry security and life safety professionals, vendors, and suppliers. 
  • Continuously improve our business continuity plan to ensure well-organized recovery during and after a crisis.  
  • Enable execution of the crisis management plan and emergency response programs, ensuring security personnel, management, and employees are prepared to handle anticipated emergencies.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and prepared to respond in emergency situations.
  • Ensure guards are following documented role responsibilities. 
  • Work to ensure there are no gaps in guard coverage.
  • Work with site leadership to resolve security related issues. 
  • Collaborate effectively with the Global Security Team.  

 

 

What You’ll Need

  • Be an experienced professional with highest standards of trust, discipline and professionalism
  • 2+ years of experience working in a security function
  • Proven ability to solve problems and make sound decisions in ambiguous and complex situations. Preferably in  security, law enforcement or military fields.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with technology and ability to quickly learn new programs in access management technologies such as Lenel and cameras systems.
  • Proficient computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Excel and Google Suites. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Must have the ability to plan, coordinate and execute complex operational requirements with cross functional internal and external teams. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a flexible schedule environment.
  • Experience with scheduling and workforce management is a plus.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of security and risk management, best practices, policies, programs and procedures. 
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans.
  • Must be able to stand and or walk in a variety of weather and terrain conditions for shifts up to 10 hours.
  • Must be able to lift and hold 15 pounds.
  • Be able to work effectively in warehouse environments with hot and cold conditions, as well as loud noises.
  • Ability to travel within your assigned area of responsibility. Occasional overnight travel may be required as needed.
