About the job

This position is needed for a key contributor with a proven record  in indirect tax compliance, audits and reconciliation responsibilities in and additional APJ countries .

This Twilion will report to the Senior Manager of International Indirect Tax based in Spain and will be responsible for owning India GST matters, preparing balance sheet indirect tax reconciliations, and maintaining the relationship with our outsourced tax filing advisors. This person will assist the Senior Manager of International Indirect Tax  with tax audits and ad-hoc projects.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Be the subject matter expert for India GST matters.
  • Prepare the working papers for India GST monthly and yearly returns and liaise with our external tax advisor that handles our compliance.
  • Review the STPI compliance and Softex.
  • Coordinate with the tax advisor the India GST refund claims.
  • Participate and manage internal and external audit procedures.
  • Prepare  balance sheet reconciliations for Indirect Tax Accounts 
  • Support Ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors.
  • Handle  customer’s tax queries via Zendesk in a timely manner.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis on accounting
  • 5+ years of proven indirect tax experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or a multinational corporation in APJ region, with main focus on India GST (additional regions will be welcomed)
  • Ability to collaborate with the Accounting and Tax Teams located in the US, EU ( Dublin/Spain) and the Philippines.
  • Ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility.
  • Ability to  work independently.
  • You love data and reconciliations with strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with indirect tax compliance, reconciliations and indirect tax automation systems such as Avalara, Vertex, OneSource, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle
  • Business proficiency in English is a must
  • To be a team-player driven by excellence, good organization skills and attention to details under pressure conditions to meet fixed deadlines.
  • You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can easily shift between the details and the “big picture”.

Desired:

  • Experience with the following software is preferred: Airtable, Alteryx, Tableau, Looker, Zuora, FloQast, Zendesk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CA inter qualified or pursuing CA or equivalent professional qualifications is preferred.

Location

This role will be remote, and based in India.

Travel
