Senior Acquisition Program Manager (Government Acquisition Solutions)

We deliver mission-critical business impact fast and are expanding our Government Acquisition Management (GAM) initiatives to bring great ideas to life. We are seeking individuals that have experience in the Public Sector (DOD, Federal Civilian, and/or SLED) to have a direct impact in strategic expansion and strengthening your skills within the field.
We are seeking an Acquisition Program Manager to collaborate with sales, customer success, and federal agencies. In this significant role, you will develop and execute large program strategies, manage financials, lead large teams, and oversee massive implementations aligned with Appian’s mission and objectives.
To be successful in this role, you need to:

Collaborate with sales to define and execute large program strategies for federal agency acquisition modernization.

Oversee financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Lead large teams through complex projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
-
Identify and mitigate potential risks, working closely with stakeholders.
-
Create comprehensive project plans for large-scale implementations, aligning with client needs and organizational goals.

Foster relationships with key federal agency leaders, acting as a trusted advisor and aligning Appian's strategies with client priorities.
Basic qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field/degree, with 12-15 years of experience.
- You have experience in Government Acquisition Solutions within a functional or technical capacity
- You have experience overseeing or implementing Government IT/Software Modernization Efforts

Experience managing a book of business using financial management tools and metrics.

Experience leading large agile delivery teams and managing enterprise-scale technology programs; collaborating with architects and designers; handling financial management tools and metrics.

Comprehensive understanding of the Federal buying cycle, including contract vehicles, task orders, and RFP responses.

Prior experience with software consulting in areas such as ERP, CRM, BPM/Workflow, Data Integration Architecture, or EAI, within the Federal space.

Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships, create compelling business benefits, and drive business value for customers.

Strong consulting skills and experience with agile software development practices.

Intellectual curiosity, bias for action, ability to thrive in ambiguity, and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Certifications:

Certification in Federal Acquisition (e.g., FAC-C or DAWIA)

Certification in Program Management (e.g., PMP)

Other relevant certifications in acquisition management or related fields
